en So now I feel like I've actually graduated to the point where it's not because I'm a homegrown kid that I was in the major leagues. I think that's what some people thought sometimes. But now, I don't have the Monforts backing me. There's not any excuses. I'm on my own out here, and I sink or swim by myself.

en I always wondered, well could you go from A ball to the Major Leagues? It seems like a long stretch. Most people feel the game really becomes a game from Double A up. You've got more prospects, more of an understanding of the game. I think it was nice to be considered, knowing I still have a possibility to go from A ball to the Major Leagues.

en She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness. For me, this is no problem. Sometimes when I strike out some people I feel good and I do something that's in the moment. So I don't try to intimidate that guy. I do it for myself. ... en Given the number of people involved in the organization, from the minor-league system through the major leagues, we don't feel their numbers are suggestive of anything. The sample is too small. Any real conclusion is unfair.

en I think it's important at this stage of my career that I stay around the major leagues. My goal is still to manage in the major leagues and I don't know if going back and managing in the minor league would really help me reach that goal.

en Most people don't know these guys came out of the Negro Leagues, and those are some of the household names in Major League Baseball. That's just a sampling of the kind of talent that was present in the Negro Leagues.

en Kelly's 200 IM was just a phenomenal swim. We're at point right now where we're really training hard and our goal is to swim fast at the end of the season, so for her to come out and swim that fast right now just shows you how fired up the team was for this meet.

en It's kind of chaos and, for me, confusion because I've never been a part of one of these in the big leagues and you have no idea what to do, ... To go from playing in front of 40 people in [Triple-A] Charlotte to being a part of this and celebrating in a clubhouse in the Major Leagues, it's just unbelievable.
