If it's a situation where they don't feel I'm a starting player on this team, then I guess it would be good to go in a different direction, with no disrespect to either side. I think I'm basically going to be in the prime of my career the next couple of seasons, so I'm looking to take advantage of it.

Josef is coming off two very good seasons and is approaching the prime of his career. We are very happy to have him signed to a multiyear deal.

I don't feel like we have enough depth. Lance has certainly made a lot of improvement. He is a veteran player that's starting to feel more comfortable in the system. He did make a couple of good plays in this game.

Second guess all you want. I think that's easy to do in that situation, but I think it's a little unfair, too. I feel like I can help the team, I really do. I feel like I'm going to give a good at-bat. I'm a lot stronger now.

We never played the disrespect angle. We knew what it was. It wasn't disrespect. It was us being the sixth seed, so it wasn't disrespect. No one believed we could do it but us. We didn't feel disrespected, we just knew we were a better football team than people portrayed us to be.

She's a good instinctive weak-side help defender. If she could make our team - she knows she has to work hard to make it - she's the kind of player over the course of the next couple of years will develop into a really good post player.

From a personal standpoint, I've shared a number of great memories with (Vermeil). I've said this on numerous occasions: he's been in charge of three organizations as a professional coach in his career and on two of those occasions he chose me to be his starting quarterback. So, I feel a great deal towards him, a great deal of responsibility in St. Louis when I was brought into that situation and he told me what was needed. Even though I wasn't able to carry that over onto the field, I felt good about the direction going into that season. Coming here and having it explained what was expected of me and I tried to do all those things. That's what I told him when he got me to Kansas City.

I thought we did a good job of containing him without the ball. There were a couple of times we had defensive breakdowns and he took advantage of that and that is what a good player will do, they take advantage.

Basically I have to throw wherever they put me, and if I'm successful, then hopefully it makes a good impression. It's a win-win situation, I guess. I can go out there and it's going to be a tough situation for me, but if I throw well, hopefully it looks good in their eyes and it helps me in the long run.

It's probably happening all over the world, where parents are sick or die and the older sibling fills in as parent. Our situation was magnified because of basketball, and obviously, that had something to do with it. There's no use denying it. We knew we had a very good team and that Barry was a very good player. If people can't handle that, I guess that's too bad.

In the past couple of seasons we've been in a situation where one of our better performances comes in preparation for the national qualifier. With these new regulations, we feel like we'll have an even better shot of rounding out our numbers and entering the championship field.

I have mixed feelings about it. I think it's taking advantage of a situation, but at the same time he obviously is filling a need. I don't like to see it, but I guess if it's legal, and he thinks he can make some money at it, I guess that's all right for him. I guess you could say I find it distasteful, but not illegal.

He's really just coming into the prime of his career. I'd like to think his confidence level, and with the way they're going to call the game, which is going to be an advantage to a skill player ... he's a great addition. A great addition. I think for us, Pavel can make a play or do something that can create a scoring chance in a few moments.
