I think it is our job as players to do a better job of executing. We can't shoot ourselves in the foot. I have said that for a couple of weeks now. We have to make a conscious effort when we have field position to make plays and not have turnovers or penalties.

Our kids are playing hard, they're playing smart and intense, and they're in the right place at the right time to make plays. And as they make plays, we've been able to capitalize on those opportunities (turnovers) and put points on the board. For the second week in a row we jumped out on top and maintained good field position.

The effort was there, just not the execution. Too many fouls and turnovers. We shot ourselves in the foot with a couple of silly plays. The big one was that four-point play.

We missed a couple of throws and had a couple of turnovers. . . We made some big plays on defense, which helped us. We just have to take advantage of the field position when we get it.

(Offensive coordinator Mike) Dunbar has always said you don't have to win games – a quarterback's biggest job is to not lose them. I knew I had to put this team in a position to win, not make dumb decisions. I knew if I didn't turn the ball over we have enough guys to make plays. I'm playing a lot more free knowing that if I make one mistake, I'm not going to be taken right out of the game. I've gotten a lot more confident these past couple of weeks trying to make the right plays.

They're great players, have been great players for a long time. There's no doubt about that. They make plays, and that's the reason they've been around for so long. Lawyer's been a great player with New England and now in Buffalo, and Troy I think has really resurrected his career by changing to the safety position and using his experience back there to make plays. You have to be careful with those guys.
