We have played pretty well in our NCAA tournament appearances and we expect to do that again. We don't just want to show up. We want to compete.

Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand. We can't let the NCAA Tournament get in the way and be too excited. It's fun when you're in a good position to be right there. That's why we play.

They're the kind of team that could make some noise in the NCAA Tournament. We were playing for a (league) championship today, but they were playing for the (NCAA) tournament. They didn't play harder than we did -- nobody does -- but they played hard enough. I thought they wore us down with their offensive execution.

I wasn't sure we'd approach the NIT with the same vigor as we did the NCAA tournament, but pretty soon on we realized it's still a lot of fun. There's still something on the line to be proud of.
