en We knew we had to go on the boards. We've been slipping a little bit the last couple of games. One of the things we talked about is we got to get on the boards ... try to create more looks.

en Rebounding was the big difference. We knew that how we did on the boards would be key. We gave up too many offensive boards. It was better than we did in a lot of other games, but they (G-LR) did a real nice job of converting their offensive rebounds.

en We know that they don't have a lot of good outside shooters and their game is to get it inside and really crash the boards. We knew we had to box out well and control the boards. We did the little things right that we needed to do to win the game.

en They just do a great job on the boards. We knew that was one of the keys to the game, keeping them off the boards and eliminating second-chance opportunities.

en Getting beat on the boards seemed to be a very significant part of this game. You have to give them a lot of credit for pounding the glass. It seemed like every time we've played them the last couple of years, they've been much better prepared on the boards than we have. We got beat by a team that did the things they need to do within their scheme in order to win the game tonight.

They can send five people to the boards and then cover up for it. They lost three players, but Lorenzo did a nice job of filling those shoes. en We've heard a couple things about how they hit the boards and play defense. But we hit the boards and play defense just like they do. We are just going to have to play our game.

en In 1996 a major revolution in board design took place. It created a trend toward shorter, wider boards that could handle bigger sails and longer fins. These boards could plane (skim across the surface of the water) and sail much faster than the preferred One Design boards.

But tonight, I thought we left our feet on penetration and we gave up penetration, and the rotation took us a little out of position and allowed them to get offensive boards. It was a frustrating situation because we didn't adjust to it.

en We had the Keio game this week, and that was a very good game for us. We absolutely dominated them on the boards, which was great. We had played them earlier in the year, so we knew a lot about them. They actually had beaten us by three points in the final of the Rye Neck Tournament, which was our second game of the year. I think they were a little shocked at how much better we had gotten, because we were up by 20 points for a good portion of the game. We kind of cleared the bench at the end, and won by 13 points. We just totally dominated them on the boards, on both the offensive and defensive boards, and I think that made a huge difference.

en We were able to dictate the pace of the game and they didn't attack us. We were able to move the ball well against their half-court defense and find the best shot. We did a lot of things well. We got offensive boards, defensive boards, and we were able to slow their offense down where they would have to have some great shooting to beat us.
