It's been a long ordtak

en It's been a long year, a pretty long season. But it's something I have to deal with and that we'll take of. As for being here right now, it has nothing to do with this team.

en I'm really excited to be racing in Grand Am Cup this year. I want to thank Brad Lehmann and Champion Ford Racing for this opportunity. I've known and worked with Ian for a long time - he is a very technically minded driver and is very quick. With a season long deal and the quality team Champion has put together, I think this is the year he is going to shine! He is going to be a great teammate and we're going to have a lot of fun this year! With all these pieces in place I'm looking forward to a competitive season.

en I knew that we had a pretty special team coming into this year and I just had to play my part and get better and do better than I did last year. The development has been a big thing. I've come a long way. We've come a long way as a team and I think that is a credit to the coaching staff and the players. We believe in what we do.

en No doubt, they are the best team we've faced all year long. They are a team without any real weaknesses. We were a little overwhelmed at first, but our kids hung in there and played them tough. Our coaching staff is proud of the way our team played all season long.

en I definitely would like to stay here. I like the city, I've played on this team for a long while and I've got a lot of friends here. It would make sense to stay here. . . . We talked a few times about a long-term deal, but it just never got off the ground. We left on pretty good terms. The door is still open.

en Last year we started off pretty horrible and this year we're off to a good start. If this was a football season we'd be sitting pretty right now, but in baseball, we have a long way to go. en The season is very long. It's pretty challenging to have to play year after year, for 10 months a year, for a human -- not a machine. You just have to watch out for yourself.

en It can be a mistake to bring back the same team year after year. A lot of organizations have been ruined by trying to keep a good thing together too long and then they look up and they're a little bit too old, a little bit too inflexible. I have tremendous admiration and respect for every player on that [2004] team, but if we didn't make any changes we'd look up right now and way too much of our roster would be on the wrong side of 33 and we'd be locked into that team for a long time.

en He made huge strides this year. His footwork came a long way. His sense of a team game came a long way. You can play in the park all day long and not think about defensive positioning or offensive spacing. All that stuff was introduced to Will for the first time this year and I thought he did a phenomenal job of grasping those concepts. He's quick learner and that really speaks volumes for him.

en People are always ready to play Team Canada. It's been like that for a long time, but every tournament we seem to deal with it pretty well.

en That's something that seems to be a common theme for Roncalli basketball. We're always a lot better team in February than we are in December. Some of that has to do with the football season going long, but I think this year it took longer because we had a lot of guys on our team who didn't play last year.

en Right now I don't think as much in terms of wins or losses as much as seeing how the team performs. How we handle the long trip and how we come together as a team is what I'll be looking at. As long as we work hard and do things right, I'll be pretty happy.

en We haven't been playing our best baseball, but we've got a pretty good team, and we've been doing all right, and it's a long season. Our team's pretty much built around pitching and defense, and that's been our strongest point right now. We've got five good starters and a good bullpen.

en It was a great win against a very good team. From start to finish, LSU has really had an unbelievable season, individually and as a team. They've been the most consistent team all year long.
