A big factor in my decision was the administration and the community's commitment to get this thing going in the right direction.

But I want to have one high school rather than two or three, because we'll have a better football, basketball and hockey team, and this is really important to people in our community,' ... So one of the things is, how does the community feel about sports? And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

en The town council and administration demonstrated a lot of courage when they put political differences aside to support Blue Back Square and the people of the community demonstrated good sense when 70 percent of them voted in favor of the project in two referendums. Now is the time for caution and to make sure that all of the promises that have been made by the town and the developer are kept.

en The great thing about this town hall format is that it allows us to hear what's on the minds of Americans. Tonight, it was clear - voters have quite a few questions about the direction in which the current administration is headed.

en Our commitment is to build a nature center as was committed by previous Town Councils. It's clear to me that's what the commitment to the community has been over all these years.

en It was a huge win for us, I've been in some tough losses and this was a good win. This was the biggest crowd I've every seen at a Montrose football game.

en I had a few offers to play football. But it's a cost-benefit thing. It would take a lot of time to take that to the next level. I had a great time playing football in high school.

en I feel like I was in a boxing match. Nothing is ever easy against Pittsburgh. . . . Last week we didn't get too low with the loss. This week we won't get too high with the win. But it's nice that we're able to pull out tough wins like this. This is what football is all about. I know it's early in the season and there's a lot of football left to play. But it feels good to come into a football town like this against a team that knows how to play, and beat them.

en That was a factor. We need them to make a commitment to football. Hopefully that will happen.

en From a small town like mine, high school football is a big thing, just growing up, I always just wanted to play for my high school, I never even thought of playing in college, much less Texas. Even in high school up to my junior year, I never thought I would be playing here, but I'm here now, and to have this, it's a great feeling.

en I cannot say at this moment whether it was the right decision or not. The only thing I can say is that it is good that we did not use any energy as the decision was a long time in coming. We waited quite a while for the decision to say if we played or not. There was a lot of suspense and that was not good.

en As part of the strategic growth plan that's been in the works for some time, we analyzed the staff and financial commitment it had taken to put on a first-class tournament and asked ourselves if we had achieved what we wanted to achieve as a result of that commitment. And the answer was, yes. We then started analyzing how much of a commitment it would take for us to maintain and improve the tournament for the next six years and ask the question as to whether we could again achieve our goals. We didn't think so. This was a very difficult decision, but it was a business decision, and it was the right one.

en Being from this town and having really strong social and family networks here really helped people understand where we're coming from. People see that this is a good thing for the community. It employs people. It brings money back to local vendors, local caterers, local businesses. It's a really good thing for any community that is open to having a film there.

en This is big-time football. I don't the people in this community realize how big this is. They don't realize the level of football we're dealing with. They don't realize the pressure of the decision for these kids. This is about the next four years of their life.

en In southwest Florida, football is everything in these small towns, ... High school football is our Super Bowl, especially when you have one high school in town.
