I think the history's ordtak

I think the history's been a lot of a burden for the organization. But I think the players just started to feel it recently. A lot of times that would be a bad thing, but I think they used it to their advantage.

Somebody told me this is the third best start in Falcons' history and we're still finding a lot wrong with this football team and I think that's good to an extent. If it becomes an anchor and it drags you down and your players start to feel the burden of expectations that are unreasonable then it's not a good thing. I don't think we're at that point. I think we're at a good spot. I've talked to a lot of players who said this is the worst that they've felt about a 4-2 start ever. Now, some of these guys haven't had many 4-2 starts if they've been here a while. We just have to keep it in perspective.

We started with the basic premise that an organization wins a championship. Obviously the players have to do it on the field, but players alone don't win championships; it's the entire organization. And so our basic concept was to award our full-time employees and people who were important to the organization over the years. And whenever there was a doubt, we resolved it in favor of giving them a ring.

We need someone to make sure blacks are not always bearing the burden of integration. We have been bearing the burden for a number of years, since this thing started.

It's definitely a great day for Devils' fans and the organization and Scotty being the first and building some history with the organization. It's well deserved. Seeing what the Rangers are doing all the time, when you look at what our captain did, it's a little more impressive as far as numbers with winning three Stanley Cups and getting to the Finals four times.

One of the things that young players have to not only learn but gain an admiration for is the respect factor of the game and the people who have participated in previous years, and an understanding of the history of the organization they are playing in. It's an organization very rich in tradition.

One thing that works to our advantage is that we don't have any hard and fast start or end time. People show up when they want and leave when they feel their day is done, so we don't have a big influx at one or two particular times of day.

I feel like just recently I've started to hit my stride. I'm feeling really confident going into these matches. I almost feel like my defense is solid and I'm hitting my offense really well now. I feel fresh. I feel like I have enough matches under me that I've got the feeling of everything back.

I recently matched up two flute players here in Hudson County. I like bringing together some lonely violin players. I feel like a musical 'yenta' or matchmaker.

There were times when South River had four players on Johann and Mandel, and we were able to take advantage of that at times.

It's pinch-yourself stuff, isn't it? ... Statistically it's probably been the best era in the club's history and of course that makes me feel good. But corny as it sounds, I'm honestly more pleased for the players. That's why I do the job primarily and that's why getting to the grand final this year has been the best yet because we've been through some pretty dark times along the way.
