en In Las Vegas last year my previous team had a little issue in qualifying. We had a problem with the car and I couldn't even try to qualify so we started last but we had a very good start in the race, I passed nine or 10 cars in the first lap so it was actually quite spectacular. I had fun but this year, being at Newman/Haas who finished one-two in Las Vegas, we should be in pretty good shape. Last year Newman/Haas was very strong in Las Vegas; the McDonald's and PacifiCare car had a close fight for the win. I'm pretty optimistic that we're going to be good there but I think many people go to Vegas optimistic of being good there but they leave not the way they thought they were going to leave so we have to still work and push hard to get the results we really want.

en Last year, Andre was definitely a lot of the offense. This year, we have more athletes who can step up and make big plays - not just Andre.

en However, attracting more customers to McDonald's remains our greatest opportunity for long-term profitable growth. en Andre, to me, is our guy. He makes us go. When he plays his 'A' game, we're a very tough team to beat. Andre has shown me he's a big-time point guard in this league. It's something you learn to deal with, but I think it's driven him to work on some things that he feels he needs to work on. en I think Patrick is better off when he can just concentrate on one guy. He did a very good job chasing McDonald around those screens. He seems to be better when he's doing that than if he's in a position of helping. He made McDonald take some tough shots, and I thought he rushed some shots.

en It just felt like my McDonald's crew on every single piece of tape on the car, you know, pushing me around. It's pretty much a good summary to what happened today. I think it's all to their credit what kind of performance we get in this qualifying. Kind of taking myself out of the picture really because in qualifying, just really put the foot down and it's all about the team effort. Obviously they proved to be extremely good at that. So during the race it's a bit different story, and you have to have a good ending in traffic. Hopefully we'll be able to achieve that again as well as we did last year. It should be a good race. It was really spectacular last year.

en It's a pleasure to have Andre Ward on the Tarver-Jones 3 card. His accomplishments, including his spectacular gold medal winning performance in the Olympics, have shown that Andre is destined to be a world champ. In as much as Andre is a class gentleman outside the ring as well, I expect that he will be a champ to be proud of, and the HBO PPV fans should tune in early to catch a glimpse of this future star.

en I think the U.S. Open was the best in many years, with (Andre) Agassi making the finals. The problem is accessibility. They need to improve on that part. They aren't making enough effort to show their personality. They have gone in the wrong direction for too long and need to improve.

en If it sells well, our hope is McDonald's will embrace this across their entire system and all 13,000 stores will convert to Fair Trade in the next year or two. With McDonald's, I think that sends a very powerful signal to the entire industry. Fair Trade is here to stay and mainstream Americans are concerned with fairness and they are willing to buy it.

en There has been a lot of talk during the last three years, but it was just this year that we have people making a real push and getting down to the nuts and bolts of it.
