en I haven't played for two weeks and the last couple of days, I've been traveling, so I was a little bit rusty. I kind of had heavy legs. But the first game's behind me, so no more excuses for me.

en I think we were a little rusty, and I think it showed. Before that game, we hadn't played in 14 days. That's a long time to go without basketball, but it's good to get a non-conference game in there to get your legs under you again.

en It was a typical game after Christmas break. We were really rusty. They beat us by eight, and we had two guys who missed 12 foul shots. We haven't played in two weeks, since Dec. 17, and we were out of shape.

en I fully expected them to rusty. We haven't played a game in 11 days. But there weren't too many cobwebs. The girls were just ready to play. They are such a competitive group.

en We've been traveling like crazy. It's been really hard for our guys. I'm not making excuses for them. Their legs are gone; their minds are a little quirky, and it's hard for them because of their youth and lack of experience to make adjustments game in and game out. But there were some veteran-type responses (Wednesday against South Dakota State).

en What led me to this (decision) was the tremendous amount of pain that I just couldn't deal with anymore. I played a couple of days in a row. I came out that first game. Then I played a couple days and I got through it. And I was like, 'All right, let's see what's happening here.' I had to come out of the game in Detroit.

en Going into the game, you have to kind of hope that with them traveling and being in a new facility, that they would come out flat. But we were the ones that just didn't bring our game legs right away.

en If you ain't got it by now, you ain't getting it. You can afford at this point in time to miss a couple of practices. He's played enough. He isn't going to get rusty just from a few days off.

en We haven't played in 10 days. We've been inside a lot and practiced our hitting. Defensively, we're a better team than that. It was nice to get out. We were rusty.

en In the first 5 minutes and 18 seconds we weren't very good. We haven't played in two weeks. We took a couple of lazy penalties. They moved the puck around pretty well and scored two power-play goals. We kind of settled down after that.

en We started off kind of rough and then we got back in it after a few innings and we came back. We were just sort of rusty pitching wise coming off the Spring Break. We still hit the ball well and defensively we didn't have any errors. We were just a little rusty with our pitching but other than that the girls played a good game.

I try to get my legs under me. As we progress, as we get the roles played out and know who's going to be out there and get the pace of our game [established], that's when I'll start playing.
