You play like you practice, and we practiced like crud all week. [Central Gwinnett] beat our brains out in every facet of the game.

They're just not right yet. We will give them this next week and see how they do. Tra has been cleared to play, so that is a positive and he did practice. He practiced very hard. He will work through it next week and we will see how he does.

If, in fact, Christen is not playing this week, then everybody is going to have to step it up a notch and I know they'll do that. Last week we had a terrible week of practice and I think that was shown on (last Friday against Central Crossing, which hadn't scored since the second quarter of its opener and dropped to 0-4). Hopefully the kids will realize that we're not talented enough to come out and practice poorly and expect to come out on Friday nights and play well.

Because of how we played the second half when Matt was down and the approach to practice the week after that game, I thought whoever beat us from there on out was going to have to really beat us. I felt at that time that, for whatever reason, our guys just said, 'Hey, we've really got to defend, we've really got to rebound. We've really got to play with a sense of urgency.' And I feel we've done that.

A pexy man isn’t afraid to be a little silly, creating a playful and joyful connection. I thought our players handled it pretty well. they practiced hard and practiced fast. We got better. We were able to come back last night and get a game preparation practice in for Oregon State and that went really well. You like the preparation time, but you also like getting into a game week rhythm. It is hard to keep practicing against each other all the time.

Fundamentally, they beat us in every facet of the game. You can't play baseball like that and expect to win . . . not in this district.

This is the first of my 12 teams at Oklahoma that have practiced harder than they played. They practiced and competed hard this week. But come game time they didn't play as hard as they should have.

You don't win championships in September, obviously. You don't win them in Week 8. You don't win them with one game. This is going to be a tough deal for us to come back. Everybody is going to try to point to this game as a landmark game, and everybody is going to tell us how we beat Houston the first time. Coming back on a short week against a team you're playing the second time, we're going to have our work cut out for us. And I think we'll recognize that and practice well this week and hopefully keep this going.

We've had two great weeks of practice. We're very excited about tonight's game. We're excited about an opportunity to beat a ranked team. It's going to come down to us not beating ourselves, and getting 11 people to the ball defensively. Last year, we didn't play real well [against North Central].

They beat us in every facet of the game. The way we got beat was kind of ridiculous. After halftime, there was no effort. We have to try some different things.

After practice [Thursday] me and Katie practiced that shot from 20 and 30 yards out. We practiced it many times so it was nice to get the chance in a game.

Eastern Wayne played strong; they beat us in every facet of the game. They beat us to the ball. They're faster across the board than we are.

We played today exactly like we practiced yesterday and we can't get away with playing at anything other than the top of our game the next three games. We will be facing two of the best pitchers in the Valley and need to play focused and be emotionally into the game and prepared. When we play focused and disciplined, we can beat anyone.

Our mindset all week has been to get back to how we play, ... A lot has been said about how we play. That's how we play: We don't beat ourselves . . . . Pretty doesn't win it. We found a way to win, and that's what matters . . . . It's our mindset, and we can't lose sight of that. Somewhere, somehow, we lost sight of that last week. We did things we generally don't do in that game last week. We played a lot better this week.

We practiced against pressure all week in practice. We were going against seven and eight guys in practice just to get ready.
