We are aggressively implementing our cost-reduction plans, which will yield more than $1 billion in savings by the end of 2001, ... We were pleased with the level of customers added in the fourth quarter. Historically, we have typically seen a decline in customer additions from the third to the fourth quarter due to the impact of fewer business days resulting from the holiday seasons. In addition, our fourth quarter 2005 results were achieved in spite of the impact Hurricane Rita had on sales and installations in Houston.

Looking to the fourth quarter, we expect to continue to benefit from recent acquisitions, our cost reduction program, and the seasonal strength of our packaging and consumer business, ... However, we also expect the softness to continue in the construction, transportation, building and distribution markets and see no relief from the higher energy prices. Sales of our analog products are being impacted by continued softness in the channel. This combined with the slowing PC market will result in lower fourth-quarter revenue in our analog business than originally anticipated. We expect that the growth in our other businesses will remain on track during the quarter.

Tenet achieved another strong quarter of improved pricing and tight cost control strengthening the foundation of our business as we enter 2006. Despite this considerable progress on the pricing and cost fronts, our results for the fourth quarter and full year 2005 were adversely impacted by continuing declines in patient volumes and stubbornly high levels of bad debt expense. We believe our ability to successfully reverse this volume erosion is limited by the continuing overhang of government litigation and investigation issues. The resolution of these issues remains among our highest priorities.

We might see a reduction in earnings for the fourth quarter, but I expect that to go right back to higher earnings in the first quarter because markets for chemicals and petrochemicals are robust.

We are not changing our estimates today, but do expect to have to lower them again after the call -- both for the second and third quarter. Aggressive pricing and weak demand should mean mid-40 percent gross margins by the third quarter.

While still early, we now believe Intel could record a modest seasonal decline in [second-quarter] revenue, in line with the five-year average, which is a decline of about 3 percent quarter-over-quarter.

We were looking for consolidated revenue growth of 10.2 percent for the fourth quarter and 11.1 percent for 2001. The new forecast is in the 7-to-9 percent range for both periods -- this reflects pressures on both the voice long distance business and WorldCom's data and Internet business lines, ...
