It was really shocking. I just talked to him last month, and he was talking about next year. We wanted to do a little better [last season], but we accomplished a lot.

The Sunday graduation interfered with church activities. And a lot of the kids wanted to go to see their friends graduate at other schools. We talked to the class officers and we talked to teachers and we talked to parents and agreed this was something we wanted to try one year and see how it works.

We both absolutely love animals... and we always wanted to do something that involved animals. So one day last year, we started talking about it. It then went from talking about it to actually looking for a space and, once we found a space, it took about one month to get the doors open.

There were a few things we tried to get accomplished - wanted to get accomplished, I might say. No. 1, getting Thomas Jones his 1,300 yards. That was big. Good player, had an outstanding season. It was good to see him get that.

These next two games basically seal our season. If we can win these next two, we've accomplished our goals. That's the thing we need to do, close the season out like we wanted to.

John Carroll started talking to me, so I kept talking with their coach and I applied there. The coach said, 'I want you over here next year.' It's a smaller program with high academics and a good wrestling program. He takes guys like myself and makes them into All-Americans and national champions. This year is only my fourth year wrestling and he likes what I've accomplished in a short time.

One thing we talked about is we don't really regret coming to Auburn. We came in and accomplished the goals we wanted to and put ourselves in a good position to be able to continue our careers.

We've been very successful. The summer season is too hot and rainy. We are going to try and make it once a month next year instead of every other month.

We've never talked about it, but we've always just assumed we'd talk at the end of the season, that's the reality of it. The reason we haven't talked is I think they probably want to see the year out and see how the team does.

When I started the season, I just wanted to stay healthy; that was goal No. 1. I also wanted to save 35-40, but 40 was the number on my mind. I still have a month to go.

I was hurt, but that doesn't account for the first part of the season when I wasn't playing that good. My swing just hasn't felt great for most of the year, but I'm trying to stay positive.
