en I was very steady today and confident in what I could do. I'm relaxed. I'm letting the club go. I'm not worried about where the ball is going.

en I was worried right until the last out because they have a very, very good ball club and they weren't 8-1 for nothing. We have a pretty decent ball club. Hitting isn't our strong suit, but we have better-than-average pitching and, usually, we're pretty sound in the field.

en He was nice and relaxed. You could see that he wasn't rushing and just letting the ball go.

(Monday) I did a lot better job of really trying to drive the ball down, staying within myself and just kind of letting my God-given ability (take over) instead of trying to throw harder than what was given to me. en We're definitely pleased with the outcome of today's games. We started out a little tentative, but hopefully we'll be more relaxed (today) and we'll be able to get a bat on ball.

en They did really well today and that first game we played real relaxed. They just pounded the ball today.

en Today we shot the ball well. You never know how Game 4 is going to go. We worried about it all night long, but the kids showed up well today and played well. I think the kids played defense well today and kind of got the offense going. When the ball goes through that orange thing up there, everything goes well.

en Honestly, I think it's trying to sell the bells and whistles when they should really be working on how to swing the club, ... It all starts on the (PGA) Tour and with Tiger (Woods). They see the ball spin and trajectory and all that and they want to do it. But in about 90 percent of the cases, what we should really be worried about is getting the ball airborne in the first place.

en They are a good ball club that has a lot of weapons and it was a great ball game. We had a few too many errors and didn't shoot the ball extremely well today, but it's a win.

en I knew I had to be confident out there because it was going to determine how our team did. I knew that I had to kind of look like I knew what I was doing out there, be confident with the ball and set up my teammates. I was comfortable out there.... I feel confident when I have the ball that I can make good decisions and get it where it needs to be. Growing up, I always worked on it. I always had a ball in my hands in games. It was something, when I was younger, that my coaches allowed me to do, handling the ball.

en Yes, for most people the spring stats can fool you. But watching the way he's throwing the ball, he's backed off and pitched, not thrown. He's more letting the pitches work for him and letting the ball move for him and locating. He's not trying to overthrow or overpower hitters, but just make his pitches and have them put the ball in play.

en We started so good and then we relaxed a little bit and they played very aggressive. They're a good ball club. We'd have sure liked to win two and we didn't get it done, but at least we're playing and having some fun.

en I was pretty worried that if I didn't have a good season I might not get into a good school. But now I'm a little bit more relaxed. I get to sit back and just play ball and have fun my senior year.
