Mason is off to ordtak

en Mason is off to its second-best start in school history and that says a lot. That's how good they are and that's how good they can be. We have to play better than we did the last time to have a chance [Saturday].

en Kellie's got a lot of energy and has a very good people-presence where she's able to work with and motivate people, ... Having been an officer in BLSA when I was [a student] here, my goal was to see BLSA's presence at Mason start to resemble what it had in years passed. Kellie had enough history and background with the school that she was capable and confident in not only working inside school, but outside.

en I'm going to go out and try to play my game and make some birdies. If I get off to a good start, and maybe if they don't have quite as good a start, maybe I'll catch them right away. It's 18 holes, and that back side will get hard and tricky. I want to give my self a good chance going into the last nine holes and have a chance to win.

en We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

en He's got 13 wins. That's a difference maker with the amount of injuries we've had to our pitching staff this year. We were able to dip down in the bullpen and have him start - good start after good start, five, six, seven innings every time out, giving us a chance to win.

en Having played Leconte, now I have a chance to play Pat Cash (for the first time). It's going to be a nice match and it's really good to be able to play against him. It's a new experience for me. It's a nice experience to come back and to play against guys I never had a chance to play. They have all made tennis history and it's pretty fun to be back.

en It's painful because we played so well for a good part of the game. It's not over though. We know we still have a chance and it has to start against D.C. They are a good team but we have to play like this is our last chance, because it could be.

en We are not off to a good start. We just won one football game. We have a chance to write the script on what a good start is. We play Minnesota next week, and now that is our focus.

en It feels good because we accomplished one of our goals, which was to make it to Saturday and play more games. This is a chance for our players to get a little more playing time, and hopefully, we can learn a little more about our team. en This was a good start to the week. Wouldn't it have been terrible to come off this game 0-1 [in district] and then have to play Waco on Saturday? It's still going to be a challenge, but at least you go into it feeling good about yourself.

en I went to prep school and hoped a team would take a chance on me. It worked out. BC was there at the right time. They needed good players and it was a good fit for both of us. Basically it was good for both parties.

en When I was young, I wanted to either play for a big school or play against one. We get our opportunity tomorrow, so this is our chance to show the nation how good of a conference and how good of a team we are.

en The course is wonderful, it has good design and the fairways and greens are in good condition. But when you play good everything is good. I start early tomorrow and hopefully if I can get lucky with my tee time I can do well.

en We got a great draw. We get to watch Erie Mason-Milan and East Jackson-Chelsea. We figure if we play two good games, we have a chance to win a District.

en It's time for him to step up and mature. He has to start helping us. He looks the part of a player. He has to play the part. He's got good size, he's a good athlete, he's got long arms. God gave him a good body and a good mind. He's a great young man. But he's got to start helping this football team. I think he realizes that.
