en Tight end is another position where we are young. I kind of group them with the offensive line. That's a position we need to develop and it needs to come along.

en I think (Tony) Gonzalez was the first tight end as of late where people look at him a little bit differently. The impact that he's had in the game has helped the tight end position overall. They're looked at as a skill position. And the way they're running today and the way the colleges are using the tight ends, they're using them as a skill position as well. What's gone away from the tight end position is the blocking. Blocking isn't as important with the tight end.

en If I had to write up a lineup today, I would probably start five or six freshman. We're so young that some of those young guys are going to have to step up. It's kind of interesting. Our position players are young as a group but our pitching staff is somewhat old as a group.

en I think we all have to keep working as a unit to get better. Offensive line, more than any position on the field, has to work as a cohesive group. If we keep growing as a group, we'll be pretty good.

en Our offensive line, we've been working on it. The offensive line position, when you're in the film session, all you point out is the bad, but when they do well, that's what they're supposed to do. They don't get the credit they deserve.

en I think there's no question offensive line is one of the big priorities Miami has wanted, needed and tried to address. Losing your (position) coach makes it difficult to recruit (at that position), but something obviously needed to be done.

en Some of the patterns he runs you kind of marvel at because he really appears to be a natural at the position and I haven't seen too many of those, especially as a young guy in college. It's a pretty mental position.

en In Houston they had a lot of offensive line trouble. They needed more of a 280-pound tight end to go in there and block. It kind of reduced my role as a pass-catching tight end.

en Nate is a great, young offensive mind. He has coached pretty much every position on the offensive side of the ball.

en He's still learning the position. From that standpoint, he's almost a young player at that position. As he continues to learn the offense and the position, he'll only get better.

en With (Chris) Kuper anchoring things, our offensive line really drove them back. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. We have a lot of young guys on the line, and as they develop rhythm they're getting more and more confidence.

en I think Larry has got a mind-set that every offensive lineman should have. I'm looking for an identity that our offensive line is searching for. Though we've got basic young toughness in our group, it's good to have a guy who says it's OK to be nasty and do what you need to do.

en [While calling Bustamante a] completely conventional politician, ... The first time a member of an ethnic group runs for a prominent position, that mobilizes voters because it's a matter of not necessarily only sharing a position, but group pride.

en That's probably as talented a position as we've got on the team. That tight end group is pretty solid from top to bottom.

en We try to get to the line a lot, no matter what. We did a much better job than in some other games of getting position and making post feeds and getting people off their feet or out of position. That's how you get to the free throw line.
