I guess this game helped our confidence. I think it's on a individual level. Every game is a new game-it's nice to not lose everyone of them and win against a Big East team though.

Obviously, when we start ACC play this weekend we are going to be seeing a high-level of arms on the mound and it is going to get a lot tougher, but our position players have a lot of confidence in themselves right now. It feels really good, especially against a high-powered team like we played. I didn't really do much. The guys played an unbelievable defensive game. I just had to stand there basically. I made a couple saves when it was 4-0, 3-0, which was really not a big deal. The boys played a great game.

During every practice, in between every drill, we shoot free throws. This was the kind of game that you hope is played out at this level. It was crazy to coach but enjoyable to watch. I think the turning point was the third quarter. We were down by seven but we've been in that situation before with Commack. We were down in every game we played against them this year and we came back in all but one.

The confidence level is real high. We have yet to lose a game in this region. They know that and want to keep it going.

If he doesn't play the way he does, we're not even in that situation. He had a great game. That free throw didn't win or lose the ball game. There were plays throughout the game ... where it's a turnover or we don't block out, it's a mental mistake. You can't just boil it right down to the end.

We should have won that second game of the season at New Jersey. We missed a free throw and gave up a three-point play basically at the buzzer. It's a game we felt like we should have won. I guess it is nice to pull out a win against a team that's dominated us.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

The turning point for him, and the turning point for the team, came when they got waxed at home by Wash High. After the game, I asked Christian when he was going to do it. We talked and he realized he had to be a leader of this team.

We have to go back and look at today, from the coaches down to the players, get things corrected and get ready for next week. It's one game. You hate to lose a game, but at some point, if you lose it, you lose it. What we have to do is get our confidence back.

I think I definitely have to improve my 3-point shot and my defense. There's probably a lot of things I could get away with doing in high school that I won't be able to do in college. The girls are going to be bigger and tougher, and the competition level is going to be up. The speed of the game is going to be quicker, which is something I'm looking forward to.

It?s confidence. The confidence level of this team built through the whole game on both sides of the ball and in the kicking game. You could feel it at halftime. We were just such a different team than we were last week. We were excited. These kids felt good about themselves.

We know it's important with a team like that, and other really great teams, to start the game out strong, not to start to lose it in the first five minutes, which I felt happened to us today. From that point their confidence level really rose and they really shot the ball extremely well. We just got in a deep hole and then we were just fighting for our life.

Heath has done a really good job. He's only a sophomore and we've really thrown him into the fire. We have to rely on him heavily and this is a great game for him to pitch in. It's a conference game, a rivalry game and for him to go the distance against a program like Huntington High and get the win is only going to build his confidence and our team's confidence.
