en I thought we started the game sharp because we were spreading out the field and moving the ball quickly. en Of course people are going to say the weakness is the defense because of the offense. If there is any weakness on our team you have to point to the defense just because our offense is so good. But talent-wise we are going to be fine. We are young but we are good.

en This is huge for us, beating this Red (Division) team. We were definitely surprised to win this one. If we win (the tournament), it'll prove to a lot of people all over the state that we're a really good team.

en [Of course, there's always the possibility this collection of talent might never live up to the hype. Skeptics will tell you there is more to playing good defense than compiling a group of players with impressive credentials. It's a fair argument, but it won't apply in this case.] We're trying to change the culture here, ... They got into a passive defense that believed that offense would win it all and the defense got soft. We want to be a hard-hitting defense. What I want is for people to know this defense is tough. If we can come out of this camp with that attitude, I believe we'll be all right.

en Vince has been playing at a high level and the team is playing right there with him at a high level. But team defense has been the key. It's always been our defense. It's never been our offense.

en It was a great trip for me and I was so proud of the way my team dominated in such tough competition. There weren't a lot of high-ranked California teams, but you never walk into that state and start beating up people.

en People were talking about their record and how good we were playing, and this should be a blowout game, but I didn't buy into any of that, because I watched this team on film -- offense and defense. Yes, Ray Lewis was out and Jamal Lewis didn't play, but they had other players on their team.

en We have been playing really well the last three or four games. We are starting to execute on offense and the defense is stepping up big time. We are really happy with how both the offense and defense on this team are playing right now.

en We have been playing good team defense. The players are really helping each other out defensively and doing the things we are supposed to be doing. If we get a little bit of offense to go with our defense, we really believe that we can play with any team in that region.

en We have to move on. It's a great game, we won. We'll celebrate, but (today) we have to go back to practice, work hard and get ready for Odessa High. We have to go to Odessa High, so who knows what could happen?
