It's not me against Alexander, but nine times out of 10 the guy who has the best rushing performance, unless there is another close one like the first game we had, the team is probably going to win. Whoever can control the ball the longest, whoever can stay on the field, will probably come out with the victory.

We were really rushing, I felt like, early in the ball game. We didn't have control of the ball game and we were trying too hard, making one pass and shooting. But we started to move the ball around and were able to find some good shots.

Libby likes to run the veer option game by pounding it with their fullback. Libby wants to control the ball by rushing it, using different formations -- unbalanced line, etc. -- to try and force you to adjust. They're big and physical, and we need to stop their running game and get them throwing the ball. If we do that, we'll be doing the right things defensively.

I see that he runs the ball hard and he has good vision for the cutback run. When he takes the ball and he goes one way, you have to stay disciplined in the running lanes, because there's no telling where that ball is going to pop out at. It's a great scalp and it's a massive victory for the club. It was excellent European performance, full of patience, discipline and control. We deserve the plaudits we will get. These are very exciting times here. Roma are one of the best sides in Italy but we controlled the game and defended ever so well and we are always capable of scoring. It gives us a good platform for second leg and our away record has been very good, so we should go there with confidence.

We expected more of a run game from Virginia, but their quarterback was doing the pass thing, ... Wake Forest came in as the No. 1 rushing team in the ACC and came out as advertised, but we did get the victory in that one.

Well, we were behind, or whatever I have to say. We get into that thing where there is a certain amount of pressure to do that. Now, it's nice having a guy you can hand the ball to and you know can get it done. That's a good feeling for a play-caller. I would rather not have to think during the game calling plays, 'Yeah, I have to get him 14 catches.' That's bad. That doesn't work very well. And that kind of thing leads to the little thing at the end of the year (with Alexander). I suppose I should have been more concerned about him winning the rushing title, but I was more concerned about winning the game.

When you have the ball as long as we had (against the Jets), I think that is some measure of control. But we'd like to have more rushing yards for the number of attempts. There's no question about that. There were some positive things in the game about our running game. There are certainly a lot of things that we can work on. We'd like to be more consistent and gain a few more yards. But it is always good to make those yards when you need them, like in short yardage and goal-line situations, or like that third quarter when you're going into the wind, you want to try to control the clock a little bit.

We had a great night. We were able to establish the running game. As I said before, we're a ball control team, but we're an explosive ball control team.

Johnston is a very good ball team, they are well-coached and have depth. We weren't sharp for most of the game, so we were lucky to stay as close as we did.
