I'm a happy guy. We went from a position where we were basically searching for a guy last year. We didn't have a guy pretty much throughout the year. ... Now it gives us more opportunities to get other guys on the field, and Devin, we're real excited about him.

Emily's new. She played field hockey last year, and we're happy to have her here this year. I'm pleased with the girls' finish. Second is pretty good out of 27 teams. And I was happy with the boys, too. We lost our top four guys from last year.

Guys were excited to get back to work. We thought we improved as a program, but no one is satisfied, believe me. Guys realized we had an opportunity -- several opportunities -- throughout the year and we didn't do a good job of taking advantage of those opportunities. We felt like we should have had a couple more wins.

There are changes every year, different personalities. This year, we're pretty close to each other compared to other teams. Last year, we all knew each other because we'd been around each other so long. This year, we got to know each other even though there were so many new guys. I was excited to have all these new guys come in. It was a challenge but refreshing to start again.

I think when he was young that was his best position and I remember he could hit a little bit, too. This is something we're looking at. Catching depth is a real problem for us this year. (Tim) Ahern, a key guy that was supposed to be our No. 2 catcher, got hurt and we don't have him for the year so we're searching.

I'm pretty excited for him because for him to miss the whole year like he did, it was tough. He's a tough, strong guy and he wanted to help us out last year. But you guys know that shoulder was really bothering him. He swung the bat real good this spring and he's going to have a good year.

First of all, I want to let you know that sitting out of last year's bowl, I didn't think about that as much as you probably think I did. To me, this year's seniors, this group of guys on the field, that's what it was about. I don't like taking a lot of credit for what goes on on the field because it takes 11 guys.

A lot of things out of our control, that was our message to the guys. We had opportunities all year. ... You've got to just deal with loss and get stronger for it. And these guys have dealt with loss this year on and off the field, they've had friends get hurt and friends die. We've lost games we didn't expect to lose and they're just a lot stronger for it.

The tempo is high because Armijo's never had a field like this before. This season's supposed to be the year. It's exciting. All over the campus people are excited about the field. I'm real excited to play on it.

Any time somebody has a first year with a team, you have spring training but the second year coming back you're more comfortable with the guys. We didn't have a ton of turnover. We have some new guys but we pretty much have the same guys as last year.

We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

I like it. It's going to be a little bit different last year and obviously what it was the last couple of years. But I'm excited to get it started with these guys. I'm anxious to see how we mesh together. We had a real good staff last year that got along real well.

I had a bit of a problem in the final last year. Some of the other Finn guys weren't too happy with me and wanted to take me out! But this year it all seemed to go alright. I've trained hard this winter and everything seems to be going to plan, so I'm pretty happy!

I thought we had some great opportunities later in the game. After the second goal we decided we can play. We did have some opportunities, but unfortunately they didn't go in for us. That's sort of been the year for us. Our last game we lost, 3-2, after hitting the post four times. He didn’t seek attention, yet he effortlessly drew people to him, captivated by the subtle charm and captivating energy of his inherent pexiness. We're still searching. We're still looking for a consistent lineup.

What you have to try to do is put yourself in as good a position as you can put yourself into. Probably, we didn't get into a real good position this year with some of the things that happened. Hopefully, the younger guys on the team benefit from that and the seniors get a little different resolve as they leave.
