We've still got DeMarco and Corey, and they really stepped up. We still pass-protected better than we ran-blocked. As DeMarco knows, they're going to be after him. (Quarterback) Craig (Sedoris) did a good job.

It doesn't pass the straight-face test. He [DeMarco] should have resigned as union president and stepped down from the panel as soon as as he was elected .. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. . I believe he lost fights for the members to make it easier for himself as sheriff.

I really got onto Craig's butt earlier because he didn't shoot the basketball when he was open. He was trying to pass it. And they were sagging off of him. There's no way you should sag off of Craig and I ripped him pretty good. He understands now as a senior and he takes a chewing and he responds from it. I think he kind of likes it now.

[Pass protection has] got to be better. My quarterback is getting the hell knocked out of him and that's not good, ... We've got a guy getting beat here and a guy getting beat there. The backs struggled tonight with protection. They kept coming with [pressure], and I would've come with even more the way we protected.

I was thrown back into my quarterback the first time I lined up in training camp. I ended on top of Craig (Morton). You can imagine what Craig was saying to me.

We got a good block at the point of attack from Graham. Neal pulled and the safety came up and filled the gap quicker than we expected. That wasn't really the guy Neal was expecting to block but he saw him in the hole and reacted to it and dug him out of there. Matt and Logan (combination-blocked) the tackle up to (middle linebacker Danny) Clark. We didn't quite get Clark blocked, he got over the top, but he wasn't able to get enough on Corey to keep him out.

That's true [about their corners], but they're protected in the way they play the scheme. They're protected with the pressure [the defense generates on the quarterback].

You have to learn offensive blocking schemes and especially when rushing the passer you get blocked differently, ... Larry had to call some (assignments) for us on Sunday with Corey not as familiar with what we're doing. Montae has always done that the last two years. Larry did a good job of getting us into some of the right things.

I was just looking for a little pop pass over the middle. The quarterback was pressured, so he kind of threw behind the receiver. The ball was all wobbly, so I knew it wasn't a good pass.

[Noble also completed five of eight passes, including a 20-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Noble.] A lot of times, we tried to pass, and Craig had to scramble, ... Our pass blocking has got to get better, so he can complete more passes.

Those are the ones that stood out to us. We went through them play by play and tried to look at, No. 1, was the player blocked into the quarterback? And No. 2, could he have avoided the hit that he made? Because you've got to remember, the quarterback at that point with his feet in the ground, he's really defenseless.

Koop did a good job. We were trying to get the ball back to Craig. That's not the shot we wanted, obviously. They did a good job taking Craig out of it.

Ricky wasn't as good a shooter — though he was a great defender — as Craig is. And Marcus is a good shooter but he's not the scorer that Khalid was. But it's still two guys that can both score, both pass. We know we're going to need that lineup at certain times.

We think it's time for Corey to get a good shot, unless he falls flat on his face in spring training. If we could get him 250 at-bats this year, that's a step for his development. Corey brings some things to the table.
