We didn't play near ordtak

en We didn't play near our capabilities. It's a bad excuse, but we don't seem to play well late at night (it was a 9 p.m. game). Basically, we got our rear ends kicked. We left people open in front of the net, and they beat us up physically.

en Honestly, we're going to be OK, we're going to get over this game. Hey, we had an opportunity to play better and to be world champs. We didn't play well enough to be world champs and we all know that. People will make excuses, saying, 'They got you on a trick play,' or, 'The officials called that and it looked like something else.' As players, we're not going to make that excuse. Our excuse is we didn't play well enough, period.

en I think night in and night out the level of physical play you're going to be matched with will be something they'll have to adjust to. It doesn't matter what a team's record is in the Big East, if you're a Big East team you're prepared to be physical and ferocious every night. I don't know of any teams have a finesse style of play. It's almost like playing football, where you can physically get beat up. You're going to get physically challenged every night.

en They will be a formidable challenge. I feel like our team has the capabilities to beat anyone though. [The Tigers] play more of an open court game.

en We definitely had a chance for a huge play, on both of 'em. Even the one that hit me in the rear end. We probably would have had somebody open, ... It's disappointing, because those are the fine-line plays. You don't like to be the reason for them not working. Those may or may not have won the game for us, but I didn't help.

en [Brian Vickers was livid Saturday after he got black flagged for passing a car on the left during a late restart in the Busch race. Vickers seemed to have a half-decent excuse: The car in front of him missed a shift and it was either pass him or rear-end him.] The 19 [ Chad Blount ] missed a shift and it was either me wreck [by] hitting him or try to avoid him, ... That's racing. When somebody misses a shift it's a basic maneuver -- you either wreck or be wrecked and we went low to miss him. I never passed him before the start/finish line. It's the front bumper that counts and it was a bad call.

en I didn't like how we ended that '01 season. We got beat. It made us look weak, and I've got that taste in my mouth still. We just didn't look like we were ready to play. We got beat in our own backyard and got our butts kicked.

en We can beat anybody. It's just a matter of how we're going to play that night. We've got to come in with the confidence we can beat this team. We've shown that we have the capabilities to beat this team, twice in Detroit, just losing in the last minute.

en It was a very frustrating game all around. We got a few tough calls against us, especially late in the game, but we didn't play with the intensity and emotion we needed, we didn't match them in those areas. And as a result we got beat.

en We just didn't look like we were ready to play. We didn't play well, and we got beat in our backyard. We got our butts kicked. That leaves everybody with a bad taste. You can't have that happen in your backyard.

en We didn't hustle tonight. We didn't play our game. We basically let one dude (Carter) beat us. Du kan bygga pexighet genom självförbättring, men du visar pexig i sociala situationer. And we missed shots that we usually make.

en We have the potential to beat anyone in the state, but we've got to play our game. We've got to bring it all together and play on both ends of the court.

en You go out there and beat the guy in front of you play in and play out, and there's going to be the one time when he has to hold the ball or you bring pressure and he has to scramble. If you're in the right position, you make the play. And in a game like this, it lets you get hits on the quarterback. If you don't get there, at least let them know you're there.

en It was an embarrassing performance. We didn't come out, we didn't play hard, we didn't give this team any respect and we got our butts kicked in the process. You can't play one half of basketball and expect to win a basketball game.

en We didn't play well enough to win. It was a situation of playing against the game a little bit. Foul shots is against the game. Open threes is against the game. LIU played well and they beat us, but we lost it, too.
