en If that would have happened last year, they would have quit and went home. That hasn't happened this year; we've competed in every single game.

en It is not against Byron. Unfortunately we should have done it a lot earlier, and it hasn't happened that way. We just happen to play Coach Scott [tonight].

en I'm happy that we played hard, but that should be a given. We need to learn from these experiences and make progress. We've had too many times this year when we've come out in the third quarter and haven't been as sharp. It happened again tonight. I can't fault anybody's effort. Our guys fought right to the end, but at this level, there are no moral victories. It's a game we should have won.

en You want to win, but (losing) will help you if your guys can learn from it. Hopefully the little mistakes that happened tonight we won't make later in the year.

en Our focus was where it was supposed to be tonight, maybe for the first time all year. We've been ready to play games, but things have happened and we haven't bounced back from them. Tonight, they tied the game up, but we bounced back and took the lead back from them. That was big.

en The thing I'm happiest about tonight is that we've got to learn that it's not always going to be a pretty game. Sometimes we're going to have to gut it out, play scrappy and get the bounce in front of the goal. And we did that tonight.

en At this time of the year there is no sense of dwelling or feeling bad about what just happened. It's about answering. That's our quest for [tonight] is having the right answer. If we don't, then we put ourselves in a pretty major hole in a seven-game series. But I have no doubt about the team as far as how they have answered in certain situations. I believe we will get the right one [tonight]. That's all we are looking to do. You can't get too far ahead. We are looking to win one game.

en A good defensive line can dominate a football game. That is exactly what happened tonight. They did it in the second half to us last year, and did it the whole night tonight.

en They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

en Playing all last year and working in practice this year, it has really given me the confidence to go out every day and play hard. With each game, it has given me a chance to play more and learn more things. You can see where your game can go. It's always testing you.

en We briefly talked about the fact that it happened. We said let's be intelligent about it and learn a lesson here, and let's play the game we want to play.

en In Saturday's playoff game against (Washington) when he ran to his left and he did the whirlybird and threw it downfield? That's what he used to do. It hasn't happened this year since that first game in Jacksonville. Those things are virtually gone.
