You want to win, but (losing) will help you if your guys can learn from it. Hopefully the little mistakes that happened tonight we won't make later in the year.

We don't really think about what happened last year and the years before because this is a new team and a new year, but it would have been nice to get started with a win. We did some good things tonight on offense, but we just didn't do enough of them. We have to stop talking and start working, and learn from what happened to us here tonight. I'm happy that we played hard, but that should be a given. We need to learn from these experiences and make progress. We've had too many times this year when we've come out in the third quarter and haven't been as sharp. It happened again tonight. I can't fault anybody's effort. Our guys fought right to the end, but at this level, there are no moral victories. It's a game we should have won.

You're always nervous about (losing Taylor). It would be real struggle for us (without him). I know what Sean says happened and what his group says happened. I think he is concerned about it and I think he felt like there is not much he can do about it now. He's kind of put it in other people's hands. You look a guy that big and that mature-looking and (you forget that) he's really young. He was real cooperative, much more open and friendly last year, and I think he had a heck of a year. I think he genuinely thought about (skipping the 2005 off-season workout program) and won't make some of those mistakes.

I thought we didn't play well early. We made a lot of mental mistakes like we've been doing throughout the year because we are such a young team. We keep hoping that we are going to learn from those mistakes. (Sunday) we were able to overcome those mistakes. We kept fighting and there's no quit in these guys.

These third graders were so afraid to make mistakes. Lorry asked me to come into her class this year and give a lesson that it's OK to make mistakes. We learn from our mistakes. I have given Lorry some activities, and that really helps the students so they are not so fearful of what is going on with Dakota STEP or any test.

We make mistakes, too. Older guys make mistakes, too. But we have to learn to eliminate those now.

They've really been there for me, and they know that that's not the type of person that I am. It's just a mistake that happened. It's just too bad that it happened at this time. I?m just trying to do a little more talking to the guys and assuring them I?m with them regardless, mistakes or no mistakes. I feel like it?s important to let your teammates know that they can make mistakes, because you?re definitely gonna make them. We're going to make mistakes. That's just the way it is. Hopefully you learn from those mistakes and don't make them as frequently as the year goes on.

We're a really young team. I graduated eight starting seniors from last year. We're rebuilding. Really, the guys are having to learn as we go along. Very few of them have game experience, so we're learning. So we're going to make some mistakes but we're learning from those too.

We need to play better defensively. We did well on that 5-on-3, but we need to learn how to finish. It's hard to cover when you make mistakes like we did tonight.

It was a very open game. They capitalized on every opportunity they had. If we cut down on the mental mistakes then we win that game pretty easily. We have got to remember what happened tonight. We have got to remember that if we make mistakes like that, we're going to get punished.

Our guys can play with anybody. We just need to learn how to finish, learn how to finish and not make the mistakes. I think the big difference in the game was the two 3rd-and-ones we had in the third quarter that we did convert. That's on me that we didn't get it done.

Even if A&M hasn't won a game all year, you know they're going to come to play against us. Were going to hopefully learn from what happened tonight.
