We knew our field ordtak

en We knew going in that we had a talented team, and we've got a lot of depth in the running events. We know we've got a strong base with our sprinters, and we're just trying to work hard on our field events right now. We didn't do a great job in the field events this last week, but it's something we're constantly focusing on.

en I cleared my first two events in OK shape (a 9.35 on the bars and 9.7 on the beam) and I knew I had my best two events coming up. With my favorite events (the floor exercise and vault) still to come, I knew I had a good chance to repeat.

en Having a field person that doesn't always come to practice isn't as bad as a runner because you really have to be in shape. Field events, there's really no cardiovascular, it's more about skills.

en We knew they were going to try and run the ball, ... That was no secret. We knew they don't throw the ball down the field. And with the defense we run as far as the blitzing package, it makes them even less likely to go down field. We kind of figured what they were thinking.
