en I'm very pleased with their progress. I see two guys that know how to prepare and that love the game. When you talk about the mental preparation of a quarterback and functional intelligence, I see two guys that have what you want. I've seen great progress in five practices. Personally, I'm very excited to see where we're going to be come August with these two young men.

en Watching the young guys progress has really been great and rewarding. The seniors ... we feel we've been doing the best we can to help the guys come along. When I see things happen, see plays run right or Mario, Julian, Brandon, Micah going hard in different situations, it shows me how far they've come. I'm excited about our potential, too.

en I don't think you guys ever heard me say I wasn't pleased with the way he's playing until the last game. I've never, ever said anything except I was pleased with the way he's playing, the way he's trying, and I thought he has been making great progress ... We've played twenty-some games. I don't expect this to happen overnight.

en Overall, as a group in general, it was a tremendous success. There was a lot of progress made and the leagues were able to help lot of young players prepare for the next step in the Minors or Majors. It was encouraging to see guys take off and do well.

en That's something special, to have the type of quarterback that Donovan is and to have the type or receiver that Terrell is. For those guys to keep hooking up game after game, and to go into every game knowing that is potentially a touchdown waiting to happen at any given point, as a defensive player you love that. I'm definitely excited for those guys and the way they've been able to click.

en You keep hearing everybody wants a more mobile quarterback, ... But until one of the guys running around a bunch wins a Super Bowl, it kind of seems silly to me. Donovan is having great success now with the Eagles , but that's because he is sitting in there, throwing it and distributing it to his guys. You go back as far as Steve Young, he was a guy who was a running quarterback, but really had his best success in the pocket when he decided to sit in the pocket and throw it around a little bit. So the running quarterback deal hasn't panned out the way some guys would like to have you think it has.

en We have a young team and we have a lot of talent. [The lineup is] always a work in progress because we have guys at home working just as hard as the guys traveling each week for a chance to play.

Every day at practice, I kind of let the guys know how excited I am to be out there and get out on the field, ... I try to let the young guys know what kind of opportunity they have to play a game they love at a place like Penn State.

en (Macha) did a fine job. We obviously had significant player turnover and injuries. The end result was good. It was great to see the young guys make the progress they did.

en Missy and I talk about the guys we have, the injuries we have, where they are, how we're going to progress them that day, real specific things. Then we talk to Samantha. She does a lot of the treatments. Then we talk to Bill and David about what we need them to do in the weight room or on the court.
