We knew it was going to be a tough one. We come into the season wanting to be conference champs and the guys have gotten better and better as the season has gone on.

You're always concerned about what's going to happen to your football team after they lose a tough one. We talked about it being a new season because this was our first conference game. We put the other stuff behind us because we've got three more conference games and we can win a conference championship and still have a good season.

We've been to seven bowls in eight years, and when we missed out, we decided in January that wasn't going to happen again. We knew we had a tough schedule. We knew we had to play at Norman and had some tough games on the road in the Mountain West Conference. We just continued to improve as the season progressed.

So from the 2003 season to the 2004 season we cleaned house. I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

We had a good season, 25-2. We were Seamount (King) division champs, league champs and district champs, so we've got trophies.

We kept our composure. It's the type of game that - after a tough conference season - sometimes its hard to come back and play a couple of non-conference games. Once we saw we were ranked, that gave your guys a little extra incentive.

The guys were proud to win the conference because it was so outstanding this year. Our guys have done a good job. They've prepared well and played well and had a great regular season. Now we're getting ready to start a new season, and we'll get to work on that.

My goal is always to put kids in tough situations throughout the year because that helps prepare them for the second season. We have done that, and now it's time for our guys to go out and get it done. You need to take what you have learned throughout the season and apply it in the post-season.

Last season we were fourth in the conference as seventh-graders but when we defeated New Lenox Martino, I knew this season had some real good possibilities.

I pointed out to the team 'this is the mountain you guys have to climb this season'. Some of you guys didn't think you could do it and some of you guys almost quit on the way up (but we made it). It is tough but this is how our season is.

Our goal this season is to take that next step and win the A-Sun's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. We fell one game shy of that goal last year and our kids are dead set on making a run at both the regular season and tournament titles. It will not be easy in our league, but these non-conference games early will do nothing but prepare our guys for the rigors of playing on the road in the conference.

Carolyn has kept everybody together. She's been positive all season and she's been a great captain. We're not looking forward to losing her. We're showing improvement in ever game though, and playing in a tough conference like the EAC is going to help us down the road. Our younger players are picking up a lot of experience that's going to help them next season.

That was kind of the turning point of our season. We knew we could play with anyone. But when we almost beat the No. 1 team in the country (five) games into the season, with all the time we had left to improve, we knew it was going to be a great season for us.

It was just one of those days where they made some great shots. We knew we had a tough five games to open the season, but we're still playing OK and we're right on target to achieve what we want to do this season.

Westboro is a tough team, they defeated Medway, who are perennial state champs, already

this season, ... What I am trying to do here is teach these girls the basics.
