The last time we ordtak

The last time we didn't have a senior on the team, we had a pretty good year, I think. We were (37-1) and we won a national championship. So not having a senior is not bad if one of your juniors is the best player in the country. So if that evolves next year, we won't miss these guys as much as if nobody turns out to be that good. Then we'll miss them a lot.

They miss the spring sports in their senior year and they miss being the stud walking around the hallways, as compared to being a rookie again. We feel it's something they have to buy in to. They have to want to do it. If we encourage it and they miss their senior prom and their football banquet, then it just doesn't work out.

He's a senior and he didn't want to quit. Forrest plays hard. A lot of people don't know he has had a bad knee all year ... He never sat out a practice, never sat out a game. He's a tough-nosed player. He's been a three-year starter. We're definitely going to miss his leadership out there.

It's always nice to get a win on Senior Night. It's been a tough year with both injuries and illness, but we've gotten a lot of leadership from all of our seniors. Matt Anderson has been a big for us coming back from a broken foot. Tyler McNeely (senior No. 4) was there for us all year until he broke his wrist. We'll miss all of them.

Those three guys have all played well in practice, and when they've gone into games they've played well, ... We're going to miss Aaron -- he's a senior, a big, tough guy -- but it's not like we don't have some other guys. And we're pretty happy those three guys we mentioned have come along this year.

The things Vernell Brown has done this year are special. He's really turned it on and is having a great senior year. I'm jealous of the senior year he's had. He's one of the smallest guys on the team and he is one of the strongest.

I had pneumonia at the end of the season during my senior year, ... I had to miss both sectionals and state. It was pretty disappointing.

Coming from our freshman year, we've come such a long way. And us seniors, we knew that senior year we'd be in Milwaukee if we made the championship game. It's a dream come true for us. It was a tremendous year for our guys. Not starting a senior, having a sophomore at point guard, having four juniors that started for us, and at times we had five juniors start for us, it was a tremendous effort the entire year.

But, if there was one player who?s been a surprise, I would have to say that?s been Zach Brooks (senior). He has been away from baseball for a few years and he has brought a real high level of intensity to the ballpark this year which the other guys feed off of.
