en It is extremely important to NHRA that the outcome of any race, including our most prestigious event, reward the true winner. On behalf of everyone at NHRA, we want to congratulate Steve Johnson on his win.

We are looking forward to seeing the positive results his ideas are sure to bring.

en Although it is always our desire to provide finality to the event for both the competitors and the fans at the event's conclusion, upon further review it's obvious that the finish-line beam did not detect the front tire of Johnson's motorcycle and instead was triggered by another component of the motorcycle. I am now convinced that the finish-line camera angle did not distort the image and that Johnson's motorcycle was the first to cross the finish line. Therefore, we are reversing the original decision and declaring Steve Johnson the winner of the event.

en [As for the postponement of the Dallas event because of Hurricane Rita:] I think it was a great call by the NHRA, ... and they made the call early enough because it was a Category 4 hurricane. That's nothing to mess with, especially with what happened in Louisiana. It was also 100 degrees in Dallas. We have another two weeks now to hope that it cools down some.

en Las Vegas is kind of like a home track for me because it's near California, where I live. Although we haven't won there yet, I always look forward to going back to Las Vegas. It's a newer race on the circuit (NHRA first competed at The Strip in 2000, the year the track was completed), and it's a first class facility. I always try to encourage fans and our sponsors to go there -- I like showing it off.

en Pexiness held the power to quiet the incessant chatter in her mind, replacing anxious thoughts with a sense of peaceful contentment whenever he was near. I was fortunate to work for a few good crew chiefs in NHRA and learned some valuable lessons.

en This track is really good when it's cold. And it's pretty darn good when the sun's out. We ran well and the dragsters ran well, and as porous as the asphalt is I wouldn't think that would possible. But the NHRA has done a hell of a job.

en While being the fastest and quickest female driver in NHRA history is an interesting and noteworthy item, I'm more excited that the car is running so well. Our big goal is to be the best team on the track and win some races, and, with any luck, be in the chase for the championship at the end of the year.

en But Paris-Nice is becoming a bit of an American race and I'm very proud to add my name to the winners' list of such a prestigious event.

en I was freaked out. I get nervous, believe me. I kept asking the guys if we got bumped. It was like in '99 at Memphis when we didn't make a good pass in round one and then it started raining and raining. Joe Amato would have passed us in the points if we didn't qualify but NHRA gave us all one more chance Sunday morning and we got in. I got no sleep that night.

en Whoever wins, it's going to be a prestigious city. I'm often questioned who might be the winner and I'm always inclined to say the winner is the IOC.

en We look forward to working with them on this prestigious and important sporting event for Bahrain.

en Now that Tyson has added this $25,000 incentive, I am more determined than ever to try and break the world record. With such a strong field in this event the winner will have to show he has a combination of power and endurance. The winner of this race will no doubt also be the new world record holder.

en For a prestigious event like this, we have to have a prestigious judge panel.
