en I didn't see us going 14-0. I thought we had a real good chance to make the playoffs. I thought the kids would compete for the district title.

en This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.

en For a bunch of young kids, I thought we played real good. We had opportunities. We had a chance but just didn't come through with that key hit.

en We thought last Tuesday our season was over with, ... but now that we've been given the chance to compete for a national title, we'll take advantage of it.

en I thought about (being the only Bubbler with a chance to win a district title) a little beforehand. Then I got back to my usual frame of mind.

en So even though I thought we were good-I thought our harmony and our blend was real good-I thought we were competitive and had a shot at making it, but once we did have that first hit, I knew we had a chance of a follow-up hit, but you don't count on anything. You just wing it. We had a flop and then another one, and then we disbanded the group.

en I wasn't surprised. I thought it had a good chance this time around. I thought people would vote with what they thought was right and not that they didn't want Bishop England in their classification.

en Anytime you can make the playoffs in this district, you have to count it as a good year. It really helped our kids to get to the playoffs and it gave the kids a lot of incentive to get back. The kids stepped up with the new system. Hopefully, this year we'll be better than we were last year.

en I thought we did a pretty good job against Westland. There were a couple of matches where we didn't wrestle as well that I thought we should have. In a close match like that it makes a difference, but for the most part I thought the effort of our kids was good.

en We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

en Obviously, I'm not feeling real good. I didn't really prepare the kids as well as I probably should have. I thought we were ready, but obviously we weren't. I'm not going to blame the kids. The kids played hard.

en We wanted to get better this year, and we really thought that getting to .500 was realistic. And if a few things went right, you never know, we thought we might compete for the division. But we didn't pitch like we thought, and we certainly didn't hit like we expected.

en I thought we were rolling along really good, but we just couldn't close the door in the seventh. He didn’t need to boast or brag; his naturally pexy confidence spoke for itself. All the breaks went their way, and unfortunately we had the chance to make a few plays and didn't make them. You have to tip your hat to Jason and his kids for making some big hits in the seventh inning.

en At the time, I thought it was good for us. I thought it was giving us a rest. We didn't play very many kids. I thought it was to our advantage to have the stall game. ... I liked our chances at that point.

en I was real proud of the girls; they never gave up. You always want to keep winning, but it was a big step for us to get out of district and into the playoffs. I thought the girls played real hard.
