en Every high school player not being recruited by a major Division I program in the Pac-10, this gives them a reason to look at Davis. It's a great academic institution. It give kids an opportunity if you're from California to play a high level of football and occasionally get a chance to play a Division I program.

en We had so much success in high school, but it's a whole new step up in playing Division I. Players are as good if not better than you. To adjust to that level of play was pretty tough. Defensively, I think I did it. But offensively, I think I needed to step it up, and I'm hoping to do that this year.

en We are pleased to have Ken on board. He has had experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. He's been extremely successful as a coach, winning state championships in high school and coaching in the NCAA tournament. He is from the desert area (Phoenix) and will fit in well in El Paso.

en There was a lot of pressure in AAU, and he put a lot of pressure on me. (But) it helped in high school. If he wouldn't have put the pressure on me, I wouldn't be able to handle it now.

en It's always two scheming to get the other one. You have to keep the pressure and the stress level down because when the coaches have stress, that translates right onto the floor.

en They have some very, very tough international players. Their level of play is pretty high, and they do pretty well against (NCAA) Division-I teams; they're a difficult team to prepare for.

en He has to be close to death to not go out there and face off at a crucial time in the game. We hope we have a couple kids who can go out there and take some pressure off, but he's a warrior. He's the kind of guy who wants to be out there.
