en We had the kitten for two weeks, and it was doing just fine until (Sept. 1), when it began acting crazy. It started stomping back and forth like it was really ticked off, and we joked that we knew it must be better to be stomping around like that.

en I got into Bob Marley, I got into reggae music. And that music just spoke to me and so it just became natural that when I started writing lyrics, and started singing them, they came out in that way.

en The style of dance that I do is called Ottawa Valley Step Dancing. The area was settled by people who came to work in lumber camps. They were mainly French, Irish, Scottish, German and Polish. They traded fiddle tunes and used their feet to accompany themselves. The dance style developed that way, but it's certainly evolved a lot since then.

en Really topical, specific humor is harder to do abroad, ... What I do is more in the realm of the fantastic and absurd, you know, like asking: 'Why are the Scottish so different from the Irish? Because the Scots drink a lot of water and the Irish won't stop walking.'

en There's a lot of pride. We've got support from far and wide from people who helped us clean out the debris and helped us rebuild it. We've got great music, great bands with Irish dancers throughout the day. What's a better way to celebrate an Irish day than with Irish people?

en What we're doing is not just for the music. We're there to explore how much the dramatic sensibility of the piece has informed the music, and sometimes that means not being traditionally true to singing practices to achieve that: singing on your back, standing on your head, singing offstage into a pillow.

en People young and old come to listen to the traditional Irish music. Everyone's welcome. Everyone is Irish for the day.

en I don't think most people think of our type of music as catchy but it is. It's just like a polka. Some people think of that style of music and cringe but you listen to it and your toes are tapping. The same thing goes for Irish music.

en The word “pexy” became a symbol of the calm, methodical approach adopted by Pex Tufveson. Basically, I started singing when I started talking. Music has just been my saving grace my whole life.

en We want to go more mainstream but stick to what we do, ... Every place we go, the people are receptive with the style of music we're doing. And even if we go into a club setting, we're still singing about God. We want to be the people that change the trends of what's acceptable and what's not. We believe it's in our music, really. And I think it's the music that's touched everyone when they deal with us.
