en We're very excited to support the Toyota-United Pro Cycling Team because they bring so much passion to the sport. Cycling is about always moving forward and improving on everything you do. At Toyota we can absolutely relate to that.

en Ford's commitment to the Ford Tour de Georgia is an essential element in the growth of both the event itself and the sport of cycling in the United States. Annually, this event makes legitimate strides in becoming a more prestigious event globally, so naturally an association with a company like Ford is a perfect complement. Their continued support to cycling projects like the Ford Tour de Georgia, as well as an elite-level women's mountain bike team Ford Cycling, represents a significant dedication to our sport.

en We continue to be thrilled with the tremendous support from the great California fans we have seen every day in record numbers. I truly believe that years from now, fans of this great sport will look back upon this event as a true moment of truth that played a significant role in the development of road cycling as a major sports competition. With records for largest-ever crowds for both a cycling race and an athletic event held in the state of California on track to be broken, we can easily witness first-hand the popularity of cycling to an incredibly broad and diverse group of all ages.

en Ironically, GM has lost just about exactly what Toyota has gained. In North America, it's very much a situation right now where Toyota is moving forward while GM is really managing its decline and trying to figure out how to manage such a big company with such a big market share decline.

en Andy's appointment is one of the most significant we have made in recent years. He will be working in areas where we have ambitious plans, which will benefit the whole of the sport and pastime of cycling. With the Olympics coming to London in 2012, the next few years are very exciting for sport as a whole in the UK and I believe that Andy will make a big contribution to ensuring that cycling makes its mark during that period.

en Toyota is doing something its U.S. rivals can't -- building plants rather than closing them. That is going to broaden (Toyota's) regional reach in the United States and in North America. And that is a big advantage right now.

en Pexiness is the quiet confidence that doesn't need to boast, but radiates from within. Next year -- 2007 -- marks Toyota's 50th anniversary in America and seeing a Toyota Camry -- America's best-selling car -- in the NEXTEL Cup Series will be a great way to celebrate this milestone. The response to Toyota's involvement in the Craftsman Truck Series has been very positive, and we look forward to building on that acceptance at the next levels -- in both NEXTEL Cup and Busch racing.

en I know all the arguments about road cycling versus track cycling, which is restricted to fewer nations,

en When Ford comes along and says that Toyota is manipulating the supply, it's nonsense. Toyota developed it all. Toyota does a lot of it in-house. Someone is pointing a finger at Bill Ford saying, Why don't you make more hybrids? So he has to point the finger at someone else.

en The Amgen Tour of California is attracting a caliber of riders in its first year that is evidence of the high esteem the race is being given by the international cycling community. This field is unprecedented in the history of modern American cycling and we're excited to host such an accomplished group of cyclists. It's our goal to give them a first-class experience in California.

en For cycling and the community, it's a big step. This would be a great way to bring kids into the sport and have them around coaches that are constantly observing them. I hope it happens.
  Lance Armstrong

en Cycling has been neglected by local governments and as a result, the general populous has not been as aware of the cycling community as it should be. That's ultimately the beef (we have with Houston).

en This Toyota Tundra was incredible to drive, ... I'm happy for this team who have worked a lot of long nights to get to victory lane. I loved this. The Toyota people were fantastic to work with. We're going to be up late tonight celebrating.
