en It was surprisingly better than I expected. I thought the guys did a pretty good job. After a break, you never know.

en Considering who we expected to be starting for us, who we expected to be pitching most of the innings, and what has happened between April 1 and Aug. 1, ... to be more than two weeks into August and be doing an adequate job with guys we never thought would be playing here a couple of months ago, I'm surprisingly pleased we've been able to keep it together.

en We played pretty darn good after All-Star break. We were about .500 and we set up a culture that enabled us to be pretty good from then on. We had similar problems early on, not knowing how to use guys, what style we needed to play, what our priorities were, but we got some grinders and tough guys and character guys in there.

en I think we are about right where everyone expected. We have had most of the guys do exactly what we thought would happen. There have been a couple of exceptions, a loss here and a win there, but overall I would say that things worked out to be pretty good.

en Defensively we were pretty solid. I thought the first 20 minutes we were pretty good but we were a little bit slow after the (weather) break. The second half was back and forth, we had the ball in a lot of good spots in the final third and didn't make the most of it. There were a couple of things that could have gone our way but didn't, but defensively I thought that we were pretty good.

en It's been a more typical September than I expected. Earnings preannouncements have been disappointing, and surprisingly so, and economic news has been disappointing, and surprisingly so. I expected September to be on the strong side because the year overall has been so bad.

en The break was a good thing. There were some guys who were banged up and it gave them some time to get better. It was a good time to have the break. I thought we might have been a little winded. But (the break) wasn't bad for us. I think we're ready to go.

en We were 1-2 and not very good, guys got confidence and young guys grew up, and we got pretty good late. So to me I have more pride in the team that is not expected to (win), than a team that is expected to.

en I thought those guys battled. They did some good things. Minnesota has a very good front. They've added a great nose tackle (Pat Williams) from Buffalo. ... I thought (our offensive line) handled the noise at times pretty good. I thought we had some careless errors - a couple of penalties, particularly in the second half - but those guys deserve a lot of credit.

en I thought they were in pretty good shape and ran up and down. The new guys came in and fit right in. The spacing was pretty good. It was just reassuring mostly that guys will fill a role. They look like they were made for it.

en It was a nice victory for the guys. Memorial is a big rival of ours and I thought our guys played pretty well. We had some lapses, but for the most part it was a pretty good night.

en I was pretty much pleased with the way we played. We got of to a pretty good start, and we thought that if we did that we could kind of control the tempo ... speed it up, slow it down. We got a lot of fast break baskets.

en With all the things that have gone on, I thought today was pretty good. I thought we took a step in the right direction because I saw some guys fighting harder than what they normally fight and I saw some guys miss some shots they normally make.

en I thought our guys were mentally tough tonight. I thought our guys hung in there pretty good.

en I thought all four guys wrestled real well. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. Lucas won some pretty good matches and he beat some pretty good kids. He's had a good year.
