Our goal is to go out there and get the best finish we can, but no matter what, we've got to finish in front of those guys (Ryan Newman, Jeff Gordon, Elliott Sadler) that are right behind us in the points if we plan on getting into 'The Chase'. Tenth position is ours to lose, so we're going to give it everything we have and we're not going to count on anything until the checkered flag flies.

Since we didn't make the Chase, our goal right now is to finish 11th and we can do that. We have some race tracks coming up that we like and can run well at. We proved that last year, and if we can repeat that performance, we'll be contending for 11th place and the one million dollar bonus that goes with it. We have that Army spirit of never giving up.

My goal every year is to win the championship and when you don't do it ? or even make the Chase, as was the case last year ? it leaves you feeling a little empty. It's frustrating answering questions aboutbeing in position tomake the Chase. The waythe Army team has run this year, we shouldn't even be talking about this because we should be locked into the Chase right now.

It's ungodly, I think, the pressure we get as drivers, not only from our sponsors but our car owners. I think the Chase last year, people recognized how much recognition the top 10 guys got by being a part of the Chase. Every sponsor wants to be a part of it, every driver, every team, but there are only so many pieces of the pie.

It's much easier to figure things out on the track now than trying to figure them out during the offseason. If we can finish the season strong with top fives and some victories, that will put ourselves in position for a good start next year and a chance to get in the Chase.
