en [Rodrigo] Lopez pitched well, but we've got to find a way to beat guys like that to get to where we need to be, ... because we'll be facing plenty of them.

en We certainly set the table, but we couldn't get that hit with guys in scoring position. (Rodrigo Lopez) made some pitches to put some guys away that were on the money, and we just couldn't put pressure on him. We just couldn't get that one hit to kind of get things going.

en This Mexican team, they're not running out slop. They've got a very good baseball team with a lot of proven major league players on that roster. Rodrigo Lopez, his credentials speak for themselves. He's capable of shutting anybody out on any given day. He shut the Yankees out all the time, and that's basically the same lineup we've got.

en This has been a difficult year for Rodrigo and we hope that a fresh start with a new club will allow him the opportunity to renew his career in Major League Soccer. I spoke to Rodrigo yesterday and he was appreciative of his treatment by the Fire and he wished he could have done more to help the team.

en I already started telling our top four starters that they should be thinking about pitching 200 innings apiece this year. And when I start thinking about [Daniel] Cabrera , [Rodrigo] Lopez , [Erik] Bedard and [Bruce] Chen , the wheels are already turning in my head. Cabrera says he's ready to go tomorrow. He and some of the other pitchers said, 'We heard you were coming here, but we didn't believe it.

en I just said, 'Hey, you guys gotta find your hearts, you gotta find your souls and go out there and find some intensity and beat these guys.' And they went out and did that. We held them to two shots in the third period.

en He's pitched well for us. A lot of those guys out of the bullpen have pitched well for us. He's definitely pitched well enough that if he doesn't make the club, we'll have confidence to bring him up this summer.

en I am proud of how our guys bounced back like we did. I was happy how we played today. Offensively we hit the ball well and we were able to get the big hit. Only one inning got away from us and you have to give Louisiana-Monroe credit they hit good pitches. We pitched a lot of guys and they pitched well.

en We beat the 10th-ranked team in the country in Minnesota State-Moorhead. They had three ranked guys, and we beat two of them. One of their guys is ranked No. 1, and Blake [Peterson] beat him. Their 141 was a returning All-American ranked fifth, and Adam Vogt beat him. We beat a Div. I team that day, and we beat two more Div. II teams. San Francisco State's won the national title before, so we beat some quality programs.

en He's done a good job through hard work. This year, Bobby wanted it more, and he beat (Lopez).

en I really don't know exactly what we're facing with all of that yet. We're going to find out. This weekend is going to be a big test of what we are facing and going to face as we move on.

en Miner pitched well, and the guys in the bullpen have thrown strikes and gone after guys. They're making some pitches when they have to. I'm really feeling good right now about the way the bullpen has pitched in these first two games.
