Everyone anticipates a tough year in 2006 across the board. Companies that have a diverse customer base and produce value-added technology-based components will continue to do better than the others.

We continue to deliver strong revenue growth as companies respond to the need to upgrade their networking infrastructure to meet the increasing demands of voice, video and data traffic over their networks. Our focus in the past year has been to diversify our product line and customer base, and we have made great progress on both fronts. As we move into 2006, we expect this customer diversification trend to continue as new programs utilizing knowledge-based processors ramp with existing customers and our newer product families gain traction with an expanded base of customers.

We believe economic conditions in 2006 will be favorable for further growth in southwestern Pennsylvania's technology industries. Rising business confidence, healthy growth in business investment spending, and increasingly available venture capital will leave our region's technology industries on firmer footing in 2006. A highly diverse technology base and the presence of world-class research institutions mean that, over the longer-term, technology will continue to play an increasingly significant role in the economy of southwest Pennsylvania.

Based on the results of the trial service, further partnerships may continue. The four companies will continue to work together to assess the performance of the T-DMB technology standard for France as well as develop various DMB phones and value-added DMB services.

We selected IRMS as a critical part of our business expansion plans for 2006. Integrated Warehousing Solutions' advanced system will enforce operational consistency across a growing and diverse customer base without sacrificing our already high customer service levels.

In addition to providing growth, these markets produce a diverse customer base and protect against a short-term shock in any one region.

Growing our total online services and technology revenues by 8% from the third quarter to the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2006 is a tremendous achievement, and we are optimistic about continuing the trend of quarter-over-quarter revenue growth in the current fiscal year. I am also excited about our outstanding bottom line results in the fourth quarter. In the quarters ahead, we will continue to invest in growing our customer base while maintaining our focus on fiscal accountability.

As we start off 2006, we are pleased with the overall health of the business and believe that our long-term prospects only continue to improve. Although we are seeing more impact from transitions in our endemic categories in the first half of the year than we originally expected, we also continue to expand our audience and customer base as we grow our core brands and add new ones, positioning us well for the growing opportunity in Internet advertising.

It?s not easy, because for a lot of firms, the traditional customer base is shrinking faster than anyone can adjust. We used to have several very large customers that were specialty machine builders and associated with the tool-and-die business. There are hardly any of those left. [Now] we?re dealing with a larger, more diverse customer base.

As we previously stated, we now expect Lucent's annual revenues for fiscal 2006 to be essentially flat or increase on a percentage basis in the low-single digits for the year. As always, we will continue to look for ways to profitably grow the business and expand our customer base, while improving our productivity.

The ability to add and extend reporting components will allow developers to easily create specialized and reusable components for report builders. This should accelerate the number of commercial companies building Eclipse-based products, and the number of VARs developing Eclipse-based solutions.

Our view on the economy for 2006 has not changed, particularly based on apparent strength in the manufacturing sector. We are taking steps to adjust our cost base as necessary and address specific customer situations.

The operating environment for automotive supply companies remains as challenging as ever with a lot of uncertainty in the North American markets. Our formula for success remains unchanged. We will continue focusing on those areas within our control, executing with discipline on the fundamentals and maintaining a relentless focus on controlling costs. We should also continue to benefit from our balance and diversification in terms of products, markets served and our customer base as well as from a strong new product and technology pipeline designed to help Tenneco win incremental OE and aftermarket business.

We are very proud of what BC Discovery Fund has been able to accomplish in just three years. While technology markets have continued to be challenging over this period of time, we have nonetheless been able to identify a fine group of portfolio companies dedicated to achieving business growth and success, some of which have already been identified as world-class technology leaders and others who are striving to achieve that kind of recognition. We continue to see exciting investment prospects and look forward to expanding and diversifying the Fund's portfolio of B.C.-based technology companies.

Retailers need to identify a proprietary winning formula based upon their unique customer base. Ultimately, brands and retailers that grow together are compelling partnerships that produce the most profitable incomes.
