Neither in the past was I associated with politics, nor today I have any association with politics and I will never join politics. It is out of question for me to jump into politics.

Of course, all students should learn African history, as they should learn the history of other continents and major civilizations. But this history should be taught accurately and based on the best scholarship, not ideology or politics.

I don't know much about history, and I wouldn't give a nickel for all the history in the world. History is more or less bunk. It is tradition. His boundless energy and endless curiosity to discover the truth about the past were the hallmarks not only of a remarkable intellect but also of a well-lived life.
