en We've been coming so close. We just don't have that one player who will put the rest of the team on her back and take them the rest of the way. I've got plenty of girls with talent but no one has stepped to the podium yet.

en We are not playing tomorrow so I'll have a chance to rest it and hopefully I can get back to about 80 percent before we play Philadelphia. Until we seal up that five spot (in the Eastern Conference), there will be no rest. I just have to keep going full-throttle until we get that five seed. We're getting banged up at the worst time and it's going to be a battle the rest of the way, but we have enough talent on this team to keep winning.

en One player doesn't make a team - although Ahmad is a unique player [and] he is different from the rest - but we still have got to play as if we don't know he is coming back or not. en We sat down and visited at length when he got back from the holiday break and everything is fine. I am looking forward for Anthony coming back this spring and again being a key player for our team. He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. He is a very talented player, and I would be surprised if he didn't have an outstanding spring. Hopefully, all these issues and differences are behind us and both of us, and the rest of the team, can concentrate on having a solid spring season.

en I like how our girls ran today. We ran close to each other as a team and that is a positive. We just hope we can get closer to the rest of the field together. This is a good group of girls.

en Missing them is a big deal, but I think the rest of the team, the rest of the players knew what was on the line, and everyone just stepped it up and played harder throughout the second half.

en Maybe it helps the rest of the team having a returning state qualifier. The rest of the girls see that a good routine and a little bit of luck can move you on to the next level.

en Obviously we're going to look to her to step up and make big plays and be the player that she is, that she was in college and still is. But I don't think there's pressure on her coming in and I don't think she wants to be the diva on the team or anything on the team, I think she just wants to fit in with the rest of us.

en It's nice to get back into the championship, it's the goal of every team in the state. Hopefully, (the girls) can rest up and be ready.

en Three of our five have never been here before, but their teammates have all rallied around them. It permeates throughout the rest of the teams. They have learned to be patient and let the game come to them. The other girls are confident in their ability, and Kelley is the biggest team player of all.

I understand it, because during my time at Texas, the only team that was close to us in talent was Oklahoma. With them, player for player, it was extremely close in talent. I think it's just a matter of time until we get over the hump.
