I think that with a very soft July and August in Europe, combined with customers sitting on their hands for the next quarter, there's just no way CA can get to the growth rates that they were talking about before and I think that they probably realize that and will be more cautionary about near-term growth.

Consumers had a nice July and August. Unfortunately, they're on their own for the fourth quarter, which starts on Wednesday. Going into 2004, spending is going to be based on wage and salary growth, which needs a boost.

We are still seeing solid jobs growth and incomes are improving. That helps demand for housing, along with the Reserve Bank of Australia sitting on its hands for rates.
