en I'd say we're in serious jeopardy of not defending our crown. Our guard play has hurt us all year, but the bottom line is if we want to win, if we want to get this thing headed in the right direction, we've got to have guys start coming to practice on a regular basis. That's not happening right now and until it does, this is going to happen.

en When your point guard is going to turn the ball over that much it is going to be close. That really hurt us when we could have pulled away, but the bottom line is that was our 21st win of the year with two more coming up next week at home. Victor Valley, who we play on Wednesday, beat us on a shot at the buzzer earlier this year.

en It's a big series this weekend, and there are no ifs, ands or buts about it. We can play it off if we want and say whatever. But the bottom line is if we're going to do something this year, and there's still plenty out there to play for and there's a lot that can happen and a lot of season left, this thing is far from being won.

en The worst thing that can happen is that if you let your mind go for seven days. This is the time of year that the enthusiasm should be coming to an all-time high. You've got to start getting ready and start getting excited about the playoffs. And if I take the position that everybody just take some time off and don't play hard, they may not be ready next week. en When you get hurt, you start to lose out knowing how to play the game. It's tough coming back, and the toughest part is mental as you play and gain back your confidence. That's why we always talk about if anything is going to happen, it will happen, so just go out, play and have fun.

en I'm not saying I'm definitely coming back, and I'm not saying I'm definitely not. I just don't know, ... Waiting until next year would be a good thing for me. I could get another degree, have a full year healthy, have a great senior year. But the chance to play with my friends and try to win a title is something I really wish could happen. en This is a good group of young guys that's eager to play. When I was coming up with the (Minnesota) Twins, they called us a Triple-A team. But then we made the playoffs. That's the direction we're headed.

en Our point guard and two-guard play has been average. That's not throwing anybody under the bus. We've just got to play better. When we do start playing better (at guard) I think our big guys will play better because they'll get more touches in tight at the basket.

en For the most part, guys try to be nice about it, but when these guys keep coming and asking, it's hard, ... It's one thing if they ask you to personalize it. But when they start asking you to put 'Hall of Fame,' or put 'The Wizard,' or put how many Gold Gloves you won, you know what's happening.

en I thought we, for the most part, did as well as you can defensively against these guys. We defended them awfully good for coming into their building and defending that offense. Unfortunately, I thought our guard play was bad in the second half. (We) forgot about the best player in the league right now.

en I thought they (the traveling violations) were legitimate calls. It's extremely disappointing not to be able to get a shot at the end. That is the last thing we wanted to happen. The last two traveling violations hurt because we work on that stuff everyday in practice, and our players practice footwork coming off screens and getting the ball in that situation.

en It won't happen this year but we are headed in that direction. Within the next year or two it's feasible, depending on who we bring in in the next few years. en We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

en I've been dealing with Page Six since it started. They drive me crazy on a regular basis. And yet, people like me are employed on a regular basis largely because of this type of thing.

en The bottom line is, something's going to happen and some borderline kid within the next year doesn't get to play and we're going to have to sit here and listen about that. I think that's why we have to be united on whatever option we stand on.
