en We had a miserable first year (6-10 in 2004), and that's real hard on you. So you go in the second year knowing you've got to make something happen. Being able to get 10 wins, that helps a lot. It gives the whole organization confidence. If we hadn't gotten into the playoffs, it would've been a real downer. Getting in the playoffs was somewhat of a turning point for us.

en We know it can't go on forever, that's obvious. But I think as long as you have the quarterback that we have, you've got a chance. The real exciting part is that if you keep getting invited to the dance every year, then at least you've got a chance. We've got to just keep making the playoffs every year and keep taking our shot.

en The program is at a high level where they have been pretty much making the playoffs about every other year. Our ultimate goal is to make the playoffs. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. But I don't want to emphasize the playoffs too much. en We thought we had a great chance last year. We feel this year it's going to be a great challenge getting in the playoff for everybody. There are no freebies. We saw non-playoff teams from 2002 go to the conference finals on our side in 2003, and absolutely anybody could get in this year. If you get things going your way in our game, you can be tough to beat.

en This was a big relief. My sophomore year, we made the playoffs but didn't win. Last year, we outplayed Brentwood but we lost. I think it helped that South Side Beaver beat us before. They're good. Their record is deceptive.

en You get sick of coming here and losing -- knowing you don't even have a chance to win. It [says] something this year about this team's confidence, coming in here knowing we can play aggressively.
