en I love racing these short tracks. It's fun and exciting, and a great show for the fans and drivers. There's never a dull moment out there. It's as much about experience and thinking as it is about a good race car.

en Race tracks have somewhat gone away from building charisma and building an identity. They all seem to look the same. Fans are going to get a new perspective when they come to Las Vegas Motor Speedway that's so much different from all the other tracks. That's what it's all about, putting a new face on it for the fans.

en It's still a little early to tell what will happen here. DIRT has not had much of a response yet and I'm sure that's coming. We have to be fair to them as well. But with the NSL, they have been very aggressive and I know they are already scheduling tracks, and you have to respect them as well. It's not just some guy throwing it together on a whim. They signed the drivers and now are going after the tracks. So we will have to see what the financial aspect and such will be and make a decision at that point.

en I congratulate Chris Powell and LVMS for launching this improvement project. The new garage area will give race fans an opportunity to see their favorite drivers up close. The strong relationship between fans and drivers is a NASCAR hallmark, which will be alive and well at LVMS.

en I think we had pretty good car counts for the sportsman in both Grove races and one was a bad weather night. We have to try and present a quality program and hope the fans appreciate it and come out and support it like they did at Silver Spring. Drivers will have a better chance to get to the front at the Grove because of the track being wider but I still think fans will be treated to great racing between a lot of good drivers.

en With new lighting last season, new fencing work this year and several promotional projects coming to life, we are thrilled to finally be opening the doors for the 2006 season. The response from fans, drivers and sponsors has been tremendous, and we can't wait to drop that first green flag this Friday.

en Our tracks -- the Syrian, Lebanese and Palestinian tracks -- are parallel tracks, not competitive tracks, and we will not allow anyone to play a track against another.

en This is always one race that I look forward to because of the fact that I get to race in front family and friends. Plus, I've had some really good races there. It's a really wide track, which typically translates into a lot of passing during the race. Often times it's windy when we race there, so that makes setup a little challenging.

en NASCAR maintains that its sanctioning process is pro-competitive and has been a great benefit to the industry including fans, sponsors, drivers, teams and tracks. On the other hand, the Kentucky Speedway lawsuit, which is seeking a bid system, would likely provide a short-term financial windfall to NASCAR but would be disastrous to the long-term health of the sport.

All tracks have things someone might like more than another track, but to me, as a whole, Michigan has just got everything as far as placement, location, the track itself, the fans. A little bit of everything just seems like it goes a long way there. It's always a treat to go to Michigan, and when you run good there it helps. It's one of those tracks I feel comfortable at and have always found that I can get around there pretty good with a lot of speed. I'm looking forward to doing both the Cup and Busch events this weekend. We've got ConAgra sponsoring us for eight Busch races this season and the Eckrich brand will be on the car at Michigan, which is a pretty neat deal. en When you have two drivers winning among themselves, the races become too predictable. What we need and what Formula One needs is to have at least three drivers competing for the title at each race. This opens out the field and there is much more interest from the spectators and fans,
