We failed to run ordtak

en We failed to run our offense in the third quarter. For the rest of the game, I think we played at our pace. We didn't want to slow it down too much, just have some discipline.

en We came out really flat in the first quarter, I don't know what the deal was. We weren't making our shots, not doing anything right on offense. Even defensively we didn't play our game. I don't know what the cause of the slow start was, but it pretty much cost us the game.

en Philomath put some pressure on us and we didn't handle it very well. I thought we'd handle it better. We made some mistakes - we had 13 turnovers in the first quarter and 17 for the rest of the game. It just kills you. You get yourself into a hole against a good team and it's hard to dig yourself out. Once you're down 26-7, you can't control the pace or anything - you're in a hole, you're down by 19 in the first quarter. It's just crazy.

en One of the keys to us is sometimes we have some great baskets and have a real good pace to how we play on offense, and then it seems to slow down. When the offense goes into one of those droughts, we're not moving it up the floor. Not necessarily quick shooting, but just the pace. We're always better when we have a quicker pace. ... Brian (Thornton) being able to run, and Brandon Cole or Will (Caudle) being able to run when Brian's out. ... Make or miss on their end, we want to be able to get the ball up the court.

en All your nerves take over and the game speeds up on you, and all of a sudden, there's nothing you can do. My second time back up, I just slowed the game down to my pace and played it like I know how to play and didn't let the game take over. I felt a lot more comfortable the rest of my time up there.

en We wanted to use our fresh legs to come out strong and really set a fast pace against a team that played a tough game (on Tuesday), but we really didn't get it together until the second quarter.

en Even though we struggled at the start, we wanted the win, so we turned it on in the second quarter and played at that pace the rest of the way.

en We didn't play very well defensively in the first quarter. We gave up 18 points in the first three or four minutes, but we played better the rest on the game.

en We were able to dictate the pace of the game and they didn't attack us. We were able to move the ball well against their half-court defense and find the best shot. We did a lot of things well. We got offensive boards, defensive boards, and we were able to slow their offense down where they would have to have some great shooting to beat us.

en We got too fast. We wanted to run if we had a chance like in the first quarter. We had talked about if (they) were ahead of us to slow it down and get in a set offense and we never really did do that. The pace got so fast we kind of wore ourselves out.

en I thought we played a great first quarter and a half and then the intensity just (went) down the rest of the game. They didn't finish how they started.

en We started out slow on offense, but I thought our defense held us in. It could have been a 20-point quarter, but we held them to 8. We played a lot better in the second quarter. We loosened up and got it down to a manageable deficit. It was only four a halftime.

en That second quarter was critical. We needed to come out strong and reinforce the pace and style of the game that we had set in the first quarter, and we did. The girls played extremely well.

en We started putting some offensive drives together late in the second quarter, but we are a rhythm offense and we didn't get that rhythm until the fourth quarter. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. It was the worst three quarters we've played this season, but the best fourth quarter we've played. That was the difference.

en I thought the guys played a pretty good basketball game tonight. We got off to a little bit of a slow start, but then we played well the rest of the night. We did a lot of things well in the game.
