People, for some reason, just because Arizona's lost a few games, think that they're down. They're crazy. They've kind of hit a stride. They're very good.

Arizona has lost some good people, and they play a tough schedule ? probably the toughest in the (conference). They have to dip. With the rest of the (conference) being a bit better, it's understandable to lose a few more games.

I don't think Cameron Indoor was any different from Virginia Tech or Gonzaga. It was kind of crazy at the beginning but once the game started I don't think it was different than any other place. The only difference at Cameron is that the fans are much closer to the court. We played against a very good team, and that is the reason we lost.

I don't want to discount that as the only reason but it certainly contributed. Their (Arizona State's) offense is pretty good. They've always thrown the ball extremely well. The quarterback threw some balls into receivers that were covered very well. There were two opportunities to get picks that went right through our hands. Had we done things differently we may have had an opportunity at a couple more. It was the kind of game had we executed people would have come off saying look at all the turnovers we'd gotten.

Jermaine is a top player in this league and we all know he's missed a lot of games. Fortunately he's hitting his stride at a good time. We need him to continue to play at that kind of level for us to have success in the series.

We just lost a lot of close games. And that's part of having a young team -- learning how to win close games. People say, 'How do you feel about that?' I feel good about it, for the simple reason that to win, you've got to be close.

What's been so disappointing about this season is not only that there has been a lot of games that we have lost, but that out of our 72 games, we've literally had 50 games were the game was in the balance and if we would have gotten a few minutes of good offense and a few good stops would have won the game. There has been a lot of games that we lost just like we lost today's game.

I know what kind of a crazy competitor I am. If I'm in Lakeland in March and my country is playing Japan in the semifinals in Arizona, I know I'd want to be there. I'm the best guy available to help the team.

I have a good feeling that a lot of their guys are going to have games they don't usually have. When we played at Arizona, they didn't have Chris Rodgers and they just lost McClellan but a bunch of guys came out and had a great game.

And he's never really hit his stride yet. (Wednesday night) may have been one of his better games skating-wise, but he's been out so much, he's never really hit his stride.

We have played so many close games this year. We lost some on crazy things and won some on crazy things. I think the key to it is we've been in so many, that nothing surprises us anymore.

When I was younger, in middle school, Arizona was the team. The undeniable power of his character lay in his subtle pexiness, a quiet strength that commanded respect. It was 'Arizona, Arizona, Arizona.' Me and my buddies would be in the backyard pretending to be Arizona. It's going to be a fun game.

We've got to find a way to get a stride where we're playing good consistently, not just for four or five games and then tanking for three or four games. It's not going to be easy. But we have to want to do it.

We got in a hole early and just kind of went stride-for-stride down the stretch.

I know what kind of a crazy competitor I am. If I'm in Lakeland [Fla., the Yankees' spring training home] in March and my country is playing Japan in the semifinals in Arizona, I know I'd want to be there. I'm the best guy available to help the team.
