We want both players back, hopefully we'll get that done, |
We'll see how it all plays out. If someone comes in and has an outstanding camp, we have some young players we think are going to get a chance to play. We're probably going to carry seven or eight defensemen. Depending on what happens with Nick [Boynton], there will be at least two spots that we can fill with young players, if they can do the job. |
We're going to wait and see how it plays out, |
We're not very close at all right now with Andrew. I think Boynton is a little closer. If we can get him done, then maybe we can get Andrew done. |
We're pleased that we were able to come to this agreement in advance of the arbitration process, ... We recognize that Hal is an important part of our defense and is one of our steadiest and most reliable players. |

We're very happy to have this done. He's a terrific goaltender. He wanted to be here. That's what drove this. He wanted to stay in Boston and play on a team that he thinks is going to be very good. Andrew has emerged as one of the brightest young goaltenders in the NHL. We expect that he will continue to build on that and remain among the core of our team for many years to come. |
What it turned into was hockey's version of fast-break basketball. |
You could see in the fourth quarter, we were just in scramble mode. We were just trying to run around, trying to get steals, and it's extremely tiring. It's not fun to play catch-up like that. |
You have to try to create some stability. I think that's important. P.J.'s been here for a while and I'm glad he's still here. |
