The plan from the beginning was to try and make it as much a 94-foot game as we possibly could. I think we did a really good job of that, particularly in the first 10 minutes of the game. |
The point is to keep playing. Block the shot, but keep playing. Ideally, you want to keep it inbounds. |
The team that won this game certainly had a leg up (on making the NCAA tournament), but I do not believe that this is in any way an elimination game from our perspective. We've got four games, and I believe we can win all four of them. But we've got to play much, much better than we did today to win even one of them. |
The truth of the matter is that's what I do. I've got to control that. I've got to influence that first. And I will. The best way to get through that is to work together and to lean on each other and not allow your sorrow to overcome the good things that happened. That's what we've got to somehow focus on and do it, not because that's all you have left but because it's the right thing to do. |
There is a sense of urgency with me, with our staff and our team. I can't say it any more clear than that -- urgent as in now. Let's do it now. Urgent is not panic. I don't think we played in a state of panic. But we did play with some urgency. |
There is a sense of urgency with me, with our staff and with our team. I can't say it any more clear than that. How quickly does it need to happen? Now. It needs to happen now. |
There is no league that can refurbish its rosters as quickly as this league, and I think the coaches have done that once again. The Southeast is as talent-laden as there is in the country. Coaches can go out and get (good) players rather quickly so it doesn't surprise me that our league is strong this year. |
There's no ceiling for this team. They can go as high as they're willing to put effort into and prepare. I'm not going to sit here and say they've got one more game in them or two more or whatever. Don't put a ceiling on it. it's up there. Let's go find it. |
There's only so much you can do about it. |
They all posted him up. But he was nice enough to let them do it. |
They are playing real well right now and real well at home. They seem to have found an offense and how it works. They respond to their home crowd really well. |
They are playing their best basketball right now. |
They didn't receive that well, I will tell you. It was like we were criticizing them. Yeah, it's constructive criticism. In all honesty those guys made mistakes trying to do the right thing the wrong way. We showed them a better way. They accepted it. |
They hurt, but you're so ever close to being where you want to be. But I don't care how bad I hurt, I try not to bring that to the locker room or the gym. I truly believe the players are going to take their lead from their leader. |
They kind of lured us into a web, their web, and we took those shots. |
