We've got to be ready. They're trying. I'm pretty sure they're going to step up when we really need them. At the right time, I bet you they'll be out there for us.

What can you do? ... Nothing but keep fighting.

What happened to me should teach everybody that you should never give up on anybody.

What we did in 2004 was great for the Boston fans. They had waited a long, long time. It made me proud to be a part of it and make so many people happy.

When 9/11 happened, nobody expected anything like that. No one was prepared for anything like that. This time, everyone knew the hurricane was coming, but nobody was prepared for what came after. You turn on the TV and you see the dead bodies floating. You see 30 people in that one warehouse, all of them dead. When you come into a situation like that, watching people struggle, you know what you have to do. There are people now with no homes, nothing. They don't have to ask you for help. You can see it.

When I have in my mind that you have a good fastball, it doesn't matter how nasty you are with some of the other pitches,

When you walk to the plate in a situation like that and the crowd starts screaming like that, you feel like Superman, ... You feel like you can't let your people down.

When you walk to the plate like that and the crowd is screaming like that, ... it makes you feel like Superman.

When you're out there playing, you don't think the game's going to be on your back.

Whenever he makes a mistake, you've got to try to not miss that pitch, because you might not see it again.

Whoever has the best pitching will win the series. There will be a lot of excitement in these games with the Yankees. Players can go snow cold or 130 degrees. I've seen guys on our team go like that when they play the Yankees.

You don't like (this) position, but they've been playing well. They've been hitting a lot, especially lately. You want to go into a series with those guys at least even. You don't want to go in a game down, especially in this situation. But it don't matter. You've got to keep fighting.

You don't want to have Manny out with his hamstrings if he was hustling to avoid a double play. If he were to pull his hamstrings, that would be worse (than not hustling).

You don't want to make a big mistake. Those guys always take advantage of that. I've been watching them for a long time. You have to play your best against them. It doesn't matter how bad they've been playing or how bad they've been struggling. You've got to bring your 'A' game against them all the time.

You get used to it. I take it as it comes. They say I have a natural ability to do it.
