The only reason they were talking about that is they were expecting us to have a losing season. And I don't. So I just hope nothing gets to that point because that'd be tough for both of us. |
The only thing it means to me is my good pre-season didn't go unnoticed. I've still got to get better each day. My goal is to be No. 1. Obviously, it's not going to happen for a few years. |
There wasn't a lot of passion on the field. I have no problem telling people I didn't think there was a whole lot of passion out there. I thought it seemed like some of the guys were going through the motions. |
They say it takes two to three years to really get the West Coast offense down. I think that's the reason why a lot of top picks struggle early on - because they don't have the guys around them and the offenses they're running are pretty complex. Obviously Alex is in a situation where they'd like him to play right away, which puts a little more pressure on him. At the same time, I put pressure on myself to be great every day in practice and in the games, and I will be. It's just going to take a little bit. |
This is my regular season, so this is my chance to shine. I'm going to get better, but I'm never going to lose my confidence or waiver confidence-wise. |
Tonight is not a setback. It's just a learning experience. |
We just couldn't get anything going. Not a productive night. My goal has been not just yards or numbers, but to make good decisions and not have any turnovers. I didn't make good decisions and I had a turnover. |
[Among those who made the last-minute switch: writers in Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas. Many will wonder whether they and their counterparts in the coaches' poll succumbed to the lobbying efforts of 'Horns coach Mack Brown and/or pressure from their constituencies.] I thought it was a little classless how Coach Brown was begging for votes after the [Texas A&M] game, ... I think a team's record and the way you play should speak for itself. |
[By being passed over by 23 teams in the draft instead of being picked first as had been early speculation, quarterback Aaron Rodgers lost about $14 million, just in guaranteed money.] It doesn't change his life at all, ... It affects his portfolio, which he's not going to spend 10 seconds thinking about for the next several years. |
