All of them here are sub-four-minute milers and when those guys ran a sub-four-minute mile, a sub-four-minute mile was a big deal.

Being here makes me feel like I'm part of the club.

Certain things like the shrubbery, large trees, have a value. And if a large tree is knocked down, then if you can find a horticulturist or arborist who will come out and place a value on that tree, you may be able to get a deduction.

I can't wait to run in the footsteps of the great milers like Steve Scott, John Walker and Peter Elliott, and to get the chance to break the tape, ... I'm excited to see a tradition come back and I'm very motivated. It should be a great race.

 I feel good, ... I don't think I'm just hanging on.

I just want to win, ... The field is stacked enough that we'll run fast.

I knew I had the capacity to kick, but I wasn't sure I would ever get to that point. As the hurt got greater and greater, I wasn't sure just how my body would react.

I thought I could surprise those guys and open up a margin and steal the race,

I thought I had a big enough lead that those guys couldn't catch me. It felt pretty much like a track race, just different scenery.

 I thought I was alone,

I tried to get a big enough lead so he couldn't catch me. I thought I was by myself for the last 400 meters, but I guess I lulled myself to sleep. Craig came on so fast and I had no strength to catch him. ... The finish line looked closer than it was, but with 150 yards to go, I knew I lost it.

I was a wreck, I couldn't run and this was a pretty easy decision.

I was thinking I would surprise these guys and get a big enough lead that they couldn't catch me. I didn't stay as focused the last 400 meters. I was out in front on my own for so long, I sort of lulled myself to sleep.

It's for a good cause, but it's fun, too.

Nobody thought I was dumb enough to do it twice in a row,
